I think I'm going for Strip Ball and see if I miss Leap for this player or not. I'll keep you updated regarding the fate of this players.

Since my DE are already qualified for our Chaos Cup semi finals, there's the slight chance he'll gain a mutation. Hypnotic Gaze or Horns would be great...

Leap does have uses on both offense and defense, but it is a rather redundant ability (like block and wrestle or Sidestep and Stand Firm) with 6 Ag and Dodge. Stripball gives you a new weapon. Good call.

I would agree that Strip Ball should be you first choice as well. You need to get the ball, and the AG6 already gives you a huge advantage in getting there.

Although, don't minimize Leap, and unless you need to stop several passing teams in your league (Pass Block), I would take Leap as your second skill (doubles and increases aside). I think as you play, you will see the advantage of the Dodge In - Strip Ball - Leap Out (or vice-versa) play. Also, your 3+ odds aren't an absolute, one key to the game is making as few die rolls as possible to avoid the turnover, each added roll brings you closer to failure. Besides, I am sure the smart players in your league will start adding Diving Tackle to their arsenal, then won't Leap look smart.

I've coached DE's for awhile, and I think everyone has missed something- The rest of your roster!

A Dark Elf team should have leap and strip ball in most leagues. With the lack of team speed and the positioning game you need to play, it is imperative to have a leap (or threat of a leap) AND strip ball (or the threat of stip ball) available. Choose whatever skill is not represented on your team already

If neither is represented, I would choose Strip Ball for the aforementioned reasons. AG 6 with Dodge is almost as good as Leap, but you can't re-create Strip Ball.

My team did some doubles and stat increases I didn`t want to forfeit. 3x Guard on my lineman, 2x Mighty Blow on positionals, an AV8 witch warrior, and the AG6 Blitzer.

And one of my Blitzers who should have Leap by now died last game because of my apo failing again...

Fen usually says stuff more worth listening to than I do so it's an honest mistake. I'll be sure to have no substance in my posts from now on. :P

I had 70k in the bank and did more than 30k in the respective game, so I've bought a new one. :)

Strip Ball over Leap, but frankly it sounds like this is someone you want to have getting the ball away and getting it into the hands of a scorer rather than blitzing it free, so you might get Strip Ball on a different guy. You might think about Sure Hands, and on the next roll get Fend or Side-Step (Dump-Off or Pass on doubles, +MA on 10). Pass Block does sound like a fun idea. If you get Strip Ball, then follow it up with Sidestep, or Dump-Off on doubles.

Wow. If +1 AG includes Accurate, +2 includes Nerves of Steel. That's awesome.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Ok, here are the latest news: Thanks to Mr. AG6 and many Guard Lineman (and some lucky dice), my Dark Elves dominated the last season. They've finished first, and won the following tournament (Chaos Cup). Single drop of bitterness: Only 1 mutation for a rookie lineman. After the first game of the new season, Mr. AG6 hit the 76 SSP's, I rolled a normal skill roll:

7 3 6 8 Block, Dodge, AG+, AG+, Strip Ball, new skill
While on defence, I play him as the typical ball stealer. On offence, he is my Jack-of-all-Trades, because AG6 makes him good at nearly everything. Now I'm pending between Wrestle (to get the ball free even with 2 dice agains him) and Leap. Any thoughts ?

Oh, and I chose Hypnotic Gaze for the rookie lineman, works great for breaking cages. Thanks to the MVP, he'll get a normal skill, too.
6 3 3 8, Hypnotic Gaze, new skill
I thought about Block, because he'll end up standing near hypnotized targets pretty often. Another option would be Pro, to make his ability more reliable without spending a Re-Roll.

You don't want to give Wrestle to the AG6 guy, unless you WANT him fouled to death when he uses it. On a guy that valuable, that's just asking for it.

I'd go with Leap or Passblock. All the stuff I said about him before still holds.

On the new guy, HypnoGaze is a great idea. I think I'd go with Dodge as his first skill, but I really wanted to say Side Step. Either would be good, but I think Dodge would win it for me. I'd love to experiment with him. :)

The thought of Hypnotic Gaze on any elf team brings a smile to my face.

Take Leap on the AG6 guy now. Then he's your super Strip Ball Wardancer.

I'd actually take Block on the Hypno Gaze guy first. Because he's a very high priority target, and Block is better protection than Dodge. Especially as he's going to be ending a lot of his turns in Block range of other players.
