10 - BLITZ! Ball in the air or on the pitch?

Post by howlett »

In my league, we try to play with LRB5. We have no house-rules except the unlimited turn time rule.
When we got the kick-off BLITZ, we counted the ball, as lying on the pitch. Then i started playing some matches on fumbbl (which is LRB4, but it doesn't matter int that case, i think), and there the ball was still in the air during the BLITZ. It was possible to occupate the field in which the ball will land, and then on turnover, you may try to catch it.

Short question:

Is the ball flying or lying?

The blitz result on the kickoff table happens before the ball lands so it's possible to position one of your players who was not in a tackle zone under the ball and try to catch it.

The boys is right... it's "in the air".... Makes the pooch-kick an interesting tactic if you have a player with the kick skill....

Yeah, the ball is in the air until your blitz ends. Then you can try to catch it if you are under the ball. Makes your oponents job tha tmuch harder, now you don't even need to strip the ball from him, you just start HIS drive with the ball.

From the Kick-Off Return Skill
LRB5.0 wrote:..It allows the player to move up to 3 squares after the ball has
been scattered but before rolling on the Kick-Off table. ..
