Surprisingly, I don't remember seeing anybody on these boards from from Japan (or China or Korea) to answer that question. Is this game not played over that way?

Actually, I've never heard about any asian or african Blood Bowl players.

San is japanese. It is a way to express your respect to a person if you call him Name-San. There is also the possibility of Name-Sama, which translates to something like "Lord". I think I've seen too many animes because I know such weird stuff...

-San is like Mr., Ms, or Mrs in English. It's the standard address use to discuss anyone who is not a close friend (and generally this address is used when you are discussing a close friend to someone who is more casually acquainted with him.)

-Sama is much more formal, and would certainly be appropriate for a lord or noble. In everyday usage, it is really used to kiss ass as far as I can tell. It is not used to discuss even the CEO of major companies, or the Prime Minister, but a man may use it to discuss his father-in-law in some situations (asking to marry his girlfriend, informing the Dad she is pregnant out of wedlock), or his boss or his bosses boss in other situations (begging for a raise, or not to be demoted).

Regarding Japanese Blood Bowlers, I have never seen the game in Japan or met someone who has played it there. However, I have seen quite a few E-bay auctions for Blood Bowl pieces from Japan, which surprised me. So there may be a following there.

My wife is Japanese and she had never heard of the game. It;s probably less indicative of the game not existing there and more indicative of her being a well rounded, in shape, intelligent, and socially ept member of her society. I find that most Blood Bowl coaches fail to meet all of those criteria, sadly. I find that I rarely meet any of them.
