What makes Chaos hard to play?

I was just looking into starting a chaos team and I really don't know much about the game. I've looked into it a few times, but just recently found a league to join locally. Well, actually its a good 80 mile drive. Anyway, I know that chaos is one of the teams that are supposed to be a little harder to play and was just wondering why.

No starting skills is the biggie, plus the players are relatively expensive.

yep.no block, sure hands, limited ball carrying/passing capability.

does have strengths though. horns means st on blitz, st4 on chaos warriors. good armor, good skill access

basically, they're a bashy team without block. rely more on raw strength that skills at first which can cost them

just takes time to develop. kinda like a steamroller. slow to start, but if they get going, they can be very hard to stop

If you plan on playing in a very long season and don't mind some early losses, they can be rewarding. For a short season, they can be frustrating. Every time the rules are about to be rewritten, there's some over-the-top attempt to fix the Chaos roster or another, and everyone decides that the changes are worse than the old rules and nothing meaningful happens. Hopefully, someday someone will come along with a brilliant idea and Chaos will be a great team once again.

What would be considered a long season? My "local" club plays a 12 game season before they enter into the playoffs.

i consider a long season to be 20+ games. but thats just me

i cant say for other leagues. 12 sounds to short for me about chaos though.

take chaos dwarfs! im a chaos fantasy player and 40K (well im a wood elf in fantasy now cause they have always been my favorite, great to see them with a proper army book now) but i didnt take choas in BB due to a short league. however chaos dwarfs are a chaos team and a pretty tough one at that
