I'm going to have to watch this topic! I have a STR 4 runner with frenzy and am certainly curious about this debate for my own needs! With dodge I would be torn between break tackle and mighty blow.

Put in a vote for Break Tackle. That's wicked.

To put it in some direction
If you want him as a blitzer / sweeper, I would take Mighty blow.
If you want him to be the ball carrier, I would take break tackle.
If you want him to be a receiver, I would take NOS.
Oh no another skill put in the room

I wouldn't take multiple block. It's by far not effective, as you need two assists against two STR3 opponents, who also must be adjacent to the runner at the start of his turn for Multiple Block cannot be used on a Blitz Action!
Mighty Blow will make him earn more SPPs, while Guard is a great team assisting skill!

If you already have a lot of Mighty Blow, or if it's early-on and you plan to get a lot of Mighty Blow, that raises Mighty Blow's stock. Without having it in big numbers, though, I'm not sure that it's as good as a skill that allows you to try things that weren't open to you, and Break Tackle is one of those; it quadruples your chances of dodging so you're seldom afraid to try dodge without penalty.

Multi Block makes him good for all positions rather than peigon holeing him to one job.
Say you take Multi Block...
So now you're ST4, Blodge, Dauntless, MultiB...
You can run him to a useful position for whatever; Blitz, assist, catch, crowd the ball whatever...
Because he is ST4 he will attract a lot of attention and because he's blodge he won't be in too much strife...
If some one sends in a guy to slow you down, You block him! You're ST4 and there are 5 guys on that team with access to guard... easy money. Blitz with him if you want to move him somewhere else...
If they send two guys in to slow you down, Multiblock the pair! Get ONE guy with Guard into the right place and you get two two dice hits vs ST3 (or ST4 for that matter) as long as you succeed the Dauntless rolls (Which is a bit easier since you're already ST4). If they put Triple coverage on your guy, have the guard guy blitz into position... Then you have 2 guys efectivly taking out three.
If some one blitzes you, they will probably need assists... so when Blodge leaves you on your feet, you have your two bocks right there...
If they leave you alone... Whats the issue, catch a hand off and make your way to TD Town!
If this player is attracting so much attention and can hold his own against it... that means that you're other players can do their jobs with less opposition...
With AV7 you don't want to make ultra specialists since their lives are so short... You want to find ways for the team to succeed but not on the shoulders of a handful of players. This one player taking on two or three guys with success would let your other team members do their jobs unopposed. If your opponent is silly enough to leave this guy alone, well then he does his job unopposed... Win, Win

Dang bouf that was thorough! And although I love the the multi block skill, I do have to admit that Guard doesn't pigeon hole the player either. It's good if you are running with the ball or if you are just playing defense.
Either skill will be great, but I would NOT go with break tackle. All you are doing is giving yourself a mutant skill (two heads), and you're playing doubles price for it (30 thou)!

Agreed B-Tackle is a waste in a big way... What if you roll +AG next???
And don't get me wrong, I think that Guard is a close 3rd... (Way better than MB) its the Dauntless that swings the ballance... you should hunt ST5 guys with this dude. but since there are few out there and usualy those that are on the pitch are deep in the LoS (where you don't want to be as a norse) a pair of ST3 guys getting a boost to ST5 seems just as good!
If it was my dude I'd look at...
Multi Block with my eyes on Side Step
or
Nerves of Steel with my eyes on Catch
or
Guard with my eyes on Side Step
But thats just me...

The best part is that you can still blitz whoever you want... but when the situation arrises for you to bust up two guys, its there too.tomlloyd wrote:The fact that Multiple Block can't be used on a Blitz is the killer for me I think (I'd take it in a second if you could), as so often I've found it's this guy that wants to be blitzing in key situations, so I don't think I'd get enough use out of Mulitiple Block.
One player = two jobs
Block & Blitz
Mighty blow may make you a little better at Casualty rolls but it doesn't help you on the Blitz... For that I'd take Juggernaught... (4th idea

bouf, you almost have me convinced!
Having this guy (with multiblock) run up the sidelines with a guard Ulf would give the opponent a big headache. First turn, Ulf blitzes a hole with frenzy for them to run through, second turn either the opponent ignores them, leaving a potential receiver, or he tries to get one or both of them down (requiring 2-3 players usually), probably fails, leaving the cage with less to worry about and the opportunity to bust 2 (3 if I'm lucky!) heads open.
I'm 75% convinced
