Post by Jonny Deth »

If I grab a player and place him in an adjacent square can I strip the ball from him,as well?

I am just not sure? I say yes but for no other reason then my Stormvermin has both skills!

When a player with this skill blocks an opponent with the ball, applying a
‘Pushed’ or ‘Defender Stumbles’ result will cause the opposing player to
drop the ball in the square that they are pushed to, even if the opposing
player is not Knocked Down.

Only diffrence with Grab is that you choose the square to push opponent too.

Well, Frenzy and Grab combo CANNOT be used. And you can only GRAB when not Blitzing. So not so good as it sounds.

Hey Strash man

Read the Grab skill. You can with a blitz as it is a block action!

No, a "Block Action " is referring to Block without moving your player (wasting movement)), a "Blitz Action" is a Blitz.
The LRB5 separates between "Block Action" and "Blitz Action".You can use the Grab skill while making a "Block Action" and it only negates Side Step while blocking or blitzing.
Grab (Strength)
A player with this skill uses his great strength and prowess to grab his
opponent and throw him around. To represent this, only while making a
Block Action
, if his block results in a push back he may choose any
empty square adjacent to his opponent to push back his opponent. When
making a Block or Blitz Action, Grab and Side Step will cancel each other
out and the standard pushback rules apply
. Grab will not work if there
are no empty adjacent squares. A player with the Grab skill can never
learn or gain the Frenzy skill through any means. Likewise, a player with
the Frenzy skill can never learn or gain the Grab skill through any
means.

This issue of a block and blitz action always gets me and sometimes causes problems during the game/leagues.

Isn't it nice that the bods at the GW development unit are total twods when it comes to making things clear in their rules....

a) The "total twods at the GW development unit" didn't have anything to do with LRB5 - that was pulled together by Galak, with input from the BB community.
b) What's the confusion?
There's a Block action (capital B) that means you don't move and make a block roll (small b)
There's a Blitz action, which means you can perform a move and a block roll (small b).

Seems pretty clear to me. If it says Block action, it's a Block action, if it says Blitz action, it's a Blitz action, if it says Blitz or Block, it's a Blitz or Block action, and if it excludes one or the other, then that one is excluded.

Don't blame others if you don't read the rules correctly.

Darkson has it and ...
he forgot to add that all the actions not only start with a capital letter but are in italitics ... where as block is not.

Thanks for your help and advice...

I doesn't matter now that he is dead!

But i will take that combination again as it was a good way to shake the ball loose.
