:-? See: Norse team. Sure, it's a little trickier to get them to go down, but when they do... crack.
That's an AV7 team. This is an AV-all-over-the-place team. Yeah, he will have to replace Ghouls from time to time, but they don't have to have AV7 guys in harm's way all the time.

Besides, a Blodger is a lot less vulnerable than a player with Block alone.

Okey. Now I have played all my group matches and I will probably go to the Quarter-Finals. 6 matches gave me 11 pts (3 win, 2 tie and 1 loss) with 10-6 TDs and 19-16 in Casualties. Got really smacked in two matches (6 cas against in each of those).

I played the Tempelhof Horrors and it was a tie 1-1 and both was satisfied. I hade lots of players out from the field and hade only 7 players in second half, but was close for a TD but a werewolf got my skeleton down the grass.

Next and last match was against the wood elf team Sandy Coast Sailors. I started out pretty good and got the wardancer badly hurt in turn 3. I hade two ghouls missing the game so I hade less speed. I lost due to this but I skilled up my wights. This is my team before Quarter-Finals, and NO ONE is miss next game.

Mummy 4 spp
Mummy 0 spp
Ghoul Wrestle (-1MA) 15 spp
Ghoul Block 6 spp
Wight Mighty Blow 7 spp
Wight Mighty Blow (+1AG) 17 spp
Ghoul Mighty Blow 8 spp
Ghoul Block, Mighty Blow 16 spp
Zombie Block 7 spp
2 x Zombie 2 spp
Skeleton 3 spp
Still 5 Rerolls and 60K in treasury.

I have 6 players with Mighty Blow and my new opponents in quarter will be one of the following Wood Elf, Undead, Goblin, High Elf, Chaos or Lizardmen. Yes that side is very even in matches.

I may have to little tackle, but if I get my opponents down I have a good chance to get them of the pitch. I am thinking of buying 2 skeletons to have as Fouling-Fodder to take out keyplayers or get one zombie as a reserve. My mummies have a hard time getting spps!

You may well really miss not having a Tackle player, esp. against the Wood Elves. You say "Quarterfinals": Is this single-elimination?

All that MB will serve really well. Every team race you noted is particularly vulnerable to a well-places MB hit.

Yes its a one-off meeting in the quarters.

I will go for two more skellies that can foul alot. With a 14 man strong team with 5 rerolls I will probably have a good chance.

To night I played in the quarterfinals and I won against a wood elf team, Mirkwood Treehuggers with 2-0 (cas 5-1).

We got "Get the Ref" as first kick-off result and the nightmare for the elves begun. With six mighty blow players I got players stunned, knocked out and injured and the where never a real threat in the match. When the wardancer fell on a GFI he was fouled to death and that did alot (strip baller).

I got 120K winnings, a new zombie and one of my mummies got a niggling injury, but also got a skill (thinking of guard), BUT I am thinking of retire him and get my a new one for the semifinals (either lizardmen or necromantic). My Wrestle, Dodge ghoul also got a skill and I picked Side Step (with MA6 I will use him as a disturbing player).

Good choice. IMO that's the best combo for getting past the LoS: most opposition players won't even bother blocking you, as it's more likely to hurt them than you. Add catch (and build a thrower on an undead team, yea right), and you've got your star TDer!

If he gets block instead of catch, then you've got a runner.

I will use my Block/Dodge Ghoul as a ballrunner or my AG4 Wight.

This ghoul with Wrestle, side step will get Fend or Diving tackle next.

It's ideas like this that make me curse skinks' A/GSP skill progression. A skink with side step, wrestle, shadowing.. ooooo. Though suddenly DT becomes useless.

I just played my semi-final against Tempelhof Horrors. Last time we played in the league it was a tie 1-1 but casualties in his favor.

This game was a tight, very close game. I hade a chance to score in turn 8 after I hade been tackled and lost ball, but got a player in endzone and picked up the ball and I made a great pass, just so I could roll a 2 in the endzone (with my AG3 wight). Damn!

He started out second half and we got Pitch Invasion! Five of Tempelhof players was stunned and I could put some pressure on. But he managed to go on and got past my players, but he was stalling. And when he didn't relize that my AG4 wight was in reach for the ballcarrier before it was too late I blitzed down the ballcarring ghoul (got 1 dice POW!). Noone could reach the ball so in his turn he hade to GFI and fell. I dodged out with AG4 wight, passed the ball, but again the ghoul in the middle didn't catch it. His last turn! Tied up AG4 wight, got a zombie in ghouls tacklezone and he tried out a blitz with his werewolf.... didn't manage to dodge out!

Then a zombie GFI for a blitz on zombie that marked the ghoul, pow and down. AG4 player dodge out for a hand-off, didn't make the hand-off... reroll and succes... 2 GFIs and a winning TD! Damn what a match! Probably one of the seasons best game and maybe one of my most intensive game ever!

I hade good luck when it came to casualties. 4-1 and three of them was with my Mighty Blow players. I skilled upp my Mighty Blow wight and picked Tackle (either wood elf or undead in final).

I have never hade as much as 6 mighty blow players in a team, ever. My dwarf team have only 2

I lost the Final vs another Undead Team, Team Death. It was a really good match, just as the semifinal and I lost 1-2 in the overtime in turn 6. A mummy with block and 2 AG4 ghouls is too good to be true and it was hard to bring down the mummy, soaking up to many players. Well I did get 20K in winnings, rolled 1, didn't have fame so I got double winnings!

Then I played a three match swiss tournament. First opponent an Orc team, Orcland Raiders. Got myself 4 dirty cards, that helped my great and after 1-1 we took it to overtime. I got to recieve. Took the ball, got upfield, close to endzone, good defence and just 6 steps away from scoruing with my ghoul. Well, I make a couple of blocks first! Doubleskulls!!! No rerolls!!! And after some battling over the ball the orc team won. Never ever block without rerolls!

Second match was against almost a complete rookie team of khemri, Slayers of Teotihuacan. The team got both Ramtut and Hack as inducements and I was thinking... this will be hard as nails! Well the khemri team recieves (damn) but I rolled weather change and got Blizzard! Thanks to that the mummies were stayed in places with a zombie to put them in check. I manage to win the game 1-0 and win the casualties by 3-1. hack was useless. First he rolled kickback but stayed on the pitch stunned, then rolled kickback again on a blitz, and the coach tried to roll for loner, and made it, just to roll kickback again. We laughed. He is still on the pitch, untill a put him to sleep with a mummy.

Third match against an even human team, Herige BBC. No inducements at all. The human coach hade some unlucky rolls and I could easily win with 4-0 and 4-1 casualties.

I was really glad that I lost my first game, becuse we have a coach with a killing chaos team at 220 TV with lots of mighty blow and claw! He managed to do 19 casualties in three games. The orc team that I lost to got 8 cas against himself losing some players in that game.

After counting points I managed to end as a third place winner. Yeah!!

I hade a last "trainingmatch" against a necromantic team, the fearsome Necropolis Nocturnals. We finished the match 1-1 and took it to overtime. The opponent got to recieve in overtime and was able to put a TD in turn 2, but he wanted to skill his new werewolf. Then I got the werewolf off the pitch, and he wanted to score with his veteran werewolf. We battled hard and then I managed to take the ball and the game ended 1-1 with me as a winner on the penalty shoot-out! Hehehehe, as I said earlier Score when you have the chance!

Darkside Gravediggers (after 13 matches 8 win, 2 tie and 3 loss) TV 178
Rerolls: 5, Fan Factor: 7 Cash: 300,000

King Leoric, mummy: Guard
Ramzy Ratata, mummy: Block

Jake Ripsaw, wight: Mighty Blow, Tackle
Max Coffinblade, wight: Mighty Blow, AG4 (my star of the team!)

Grace Hopper, ghoul: Wrestle, Side Step (MA6)
Lumpy Lurch, ghoul: Block
Eddie Creep, ghoul: Block, Mighty Blow
Gaston Skinbury, ghoul: Block, Mighty Blow (Niggling)

Bob Zombie, zombie: Block, Tackle
Fester Deadling, zombie: Block
Voronwé Magnolia, zombie: no skills (former wood elf wardancer)
Stan Cold, zombie: no skills

Jack Wishbone, skeleton: Block
Skellie Boneshank, skeleton: Wrestle
Roxy Boneklinkz, skeleton: Block

I am planning to play in a Minor division with max 150 TV. Then I have to kick King Leoric, Grace Hopper and Voronwé Magnolia. Would that be wise? Or shall I play in the Majors 150-200 TV? Where can the team do best from what I have. It will be alot harder teams in the Majors, but I have 6 Mighty Blow guys to kick back with.

You have two mighty blow blodgers? Gah. Though why you are building your AV7 ghouls to hit people? On doubles I can see a possible one mighty blow, but wouldn't Nerves of Steel or Pass be better?

Nerves of Steel is good, but I use yhat on Gutter Runners or Wood Elf Catchers. If you have a MA7 Block, Dodge, Mighty Blow then Tackle you have yourself a scoring killer. NOS on AG3 is not that great, and I don't really have much use of that skill in some teams.

Pass is not bad, but I prefer running games with undead, and I have 5 rerolls. Most passing is made by my AG4 wight, wich is also safer to pick up the ball with.

Mighty Blow have helped me, not just to get casualties but to get players stunned or knocked out. A fast team that is hard hitting is both of two worlds, you hit and run!
