Humans vs. Skaven

Post by harley_topper »

Hi,

my humans are facing a skaven team next match.
I have 2 RR, 4 Blitzers (two have the guard skill), 2 catchers, 1 thrower (has agility 4), 1 ogre (has block) and 4 Lineman (one has the block skill).
The skaven team is not better with his skills but there is one gutter runner that is able to score in one turn (he needs to do three go for its).
I think I have two defence tactics:
I put a strength LoS and only one or two players back.

or

I put a strength backfield

what would you do, do have other tactics?

Weak LoS. put the "wing" players far back and have a spaced out deep defence. Try to put all the players apart far enough to cover as much as possible with TZ's. Remember, even if he gets through, force him to move around one of your players. Thats enough to make him loose one square of movement and not being able to score. Keep one good blitzer centered at your end zone the whole match to blitz him.

And as soon as you get the chance.. Throw everything you got against him and TAKE HIM OUT!!

To do one turn touchdowns he has to put the gutter runner on the half way line, this means you can put players right on him. If you have someone with tackle put him there, so he can't use his dodge skill. If you get a blitz then you can simply block him. Also try and get players on his thrower if he doesn't get the ball away, they are usually ag 3 so the more dodges, pickups in tz the better. I would keep a couple of players back deep towards each sideline. Setting a lot of players up deep would be needed to make the one turner do lots of dodges would require most of your team, due to high movement can take him wideways via diagonal to the endzone as well. Do this and your get out numbered on the los and he can move part way down where most of his team are in scoring range then. Also leavint you los outnumbered can leave him with a great opportunity to foul as you won't have many tz on players to stop them.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

That's the habit in our league, anybody who has had sprint has died from heart attacks..... everybody counts on it
Go for it... Go for it... Go f.. <aaargh> (Falls over and dies)

Almost guarenteed, so much so, people are supersticious (sp?) about getting sprint on anybody important!

Gk.

I had a woodelf catcher die exactly like that. My luck on GFI are extremly bad. Last game with WE i had the ball, "just one GFI so he can't blitz him" and you all can guess what happened there :pissed:

I thought I was the only one. Around here I'm the only person who fails GFIs. When I do my players almost always die. I've only had one player, a Wight, that was only Seriously Injured. He lost a MV but I still kept him around for a while as a good luck charm because he had survived the GFI! The rest have ALL died going for it. about 10 guys. I'm seriously supersticious now, only GFIing if I have a reroll and an apothecary and only if I REALLY need it. If one of my players is MV6, that's it. He moves 6!
