And what DID you play Duke Jan? And was it fun...??

To the organizers: it was a great tournament full of laughs and exciting matches. Thx to my opponents.

One thing to the organizers for next year. Losing the game with one TD gives you the same amount of points as drawing the match is just plain wrong...
Playing a 3-1-1 and ending up behind several coaches who played a 3-0-2 is IMO wrong; otherwise great tournament and hope to see you all next year.

Second that ...

Second that as well!!!

Thanks to all for making this aniversary edition one to remember!

Draco beating me with his ogres will be something I will probably have to hear for the rest of my Blood Bowling days, but the tourney was well worth that!

Thanks to Draco, Steven, Jort, Joris and Steven for being such nice and sporting opponents.

BIG thanks to the organizing crew! Your tourney is the mother of all Belgian tourneys and the atmosphere still breathes that fact. Keep up the great work please!

Now to find some way of filling the gap between now and the Dutch Open ...

Same for me, great tourney, 5 fun matches and I won the Most TD prize. Thanks Draco, my 8-0 victory (I repeat, 8-0 8) ) really helped for that.
I must say, even 8-0 down, losing all of his snotlings and some of his ogres, Draco is still in for a laugh. That's the spirit. Keep it up!

Thanks Dreez, Sam, Sjapie and the bartenders. CU next year...

Hey guys

Myself, Dries and Christophe would like to thank you all for attending the BrassBowl and making it our biggest and best event yet!

Full results will be posted in the very near future, let me just also extend my congratulations to Mats for being Belgian champ for the next 1.5 years.

As far as the scoring system goes, let me just clarify that: we had a small glitch in the sense that it was supposed to be the same system as last year (4 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss with only 1 touchdown). But due to human error and/or clicking of the wrong button, we somehow ended up with this very similar (but different) scoring system. This was actually detected at the end of day 1, but it was decided not to change the scoring system halfway the tournament, a decison I wholeheartedly agree with.

Just fyi, I did a quick test on the results and the top 5 would have been in exactly the same order under the 'old' system, so no harm done I guess. Nevertheless, we do apologize for the stress we might have caused to numbercrunchers :D

Hope to see you all on the next edition!!!

Thanks to all of the opponents and you guys for organising. What great fun, well done Da Great MC and Dries, top performance with Necro. I heard a rumour that the British team won! This is a rumour though!

On a more, well not serious but "on the level" kind a thing, it is hard to put into words on a forum how touched I was at the shirt - all of us there know what I mean, it meant a lot guys, more than wins or all that stuff. Thanks.

Not a team that suffered unending defeat  And it was fun, should have sticked with my original 2 RR roster though, I might actually have gotten som skills on Ogres then instead of a long string of sneaky git snotlings.

Great tourney. Playing Ogres I didn't really care much about the scoring system, so never mind that. And Draco might have beat me on net TD, but that was only by 1 point. I can't remember by how many points he was beaten at Uno at Nighthawk's saturday night. And thank's Steven and Antje for kicking their son out of his bed to make room for some BB players. That's what I call a sense of BB community :)

Another great tourney, as usual in Oostende. A big hand to all organizing members from the Brassman. It was also great to receive an anniversary Brassman mini - superb idea!

Next, congrats to Mats, Dries and Leo for their top 3 ranking!

The first day my rats had the honor to face Dwarf, Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarfs with varying degrees of success (2-2, 1-3, 4-1)

The second day went considerably better, scoring 10 - 0 TD's in two games versus respectively Khemri (6-0) and Skaven (4-0)

Thanks to Dave, Seb, Wouter, Philip and Nico for the fun Blood Bowl games!

Thanks to Draco, Duke Jan and Mario for their much appreciated presence at our house and the already legendary Catan/Uno games on saturday evening!

Next year's BrassBowl is already in my calender!

You mean there was a tournament last weekend? Too bad I couldn't make it. Nobody told me. I guess I have to thank Jurgen for that!

First of all, a great thanks to our host in Belgium. Steven, without you Antje and the kids, Brassbowl would not be the same.

Yavatol, Duke Jan and me arrived on friday afternoon around 16.00. After a couple of soft drinks (I can here the British roaring allready just by the idea), we went to Stevens place to get the key because Steven had to go to a party and did not know when he'd be back in town. So we had dinner in a local restaurant. Great food, but I think you can get great food at any restaurant in Belgium.

After that we went to the venue for some games and to meat the guys who were allready there. Friday night is always entertaining, playing cards or Roborally or whatever comes up. So friday night in Oostende is allready a must.

Next morning I got the pleasure to have my dreams come true. For the next decade at least I'm going to haunt Seb with my victory over his Lizards. The Sauri left the pitch by the thousands, screaming for their mummies! After looking around to see that there was nobody left to disturb them, the snotlings carried the ball into the endzone twice to claim an emperial 2-1 victory. When the smoke left the field, there were only a Krox, an Apo'd Saurus and a Ko recovered Skink left. :D

Next match brought on Jelmers amazons. AV 7 looks great, but the strange thing is that AV 7 is harder to break than AV 9! I got Jelmers players down many times, but the just didn't crack like they should have. 0-2 loss was the result. But as usual a fun game.

Last saturday match. It was allready mentioned in this thread. 0-8 against skaven. Again the AV 7 was hard to break. The gutter runners passed by my ogres and snotlings as if they were not there. Snotlings fled the pitch, Ogres died horribly. It was total chaos and the skaven used every second turn to score rolling Pows all over. Big laugh game. But I guess every game I play is a big laugh if my opponent also wants it to be!

during the second game, our third roommate presented himself. Mario: You're a great guy and it was really fun having you hanging around and playing games even you did consider the rules a bit strange.

Saturday evening is reserved for going to "De Artiest" (allthough many go to the chicken shack, we the sophisticated lot go to De Artiest). Great food for a good price and with 21 people, we almost had the top floor to ourselves. Next year we might book the entire place! :P

Then off to Stevens place. Steven, Antje, Mario, Richard and me played Settlers with erupting volcanoes. Really funny, cause you never know when you are safe and when not. Pieces of land getting flooded by tsunamies. Big fun.

And of course we finished the night with Uno. I still think the could have told me the rules better. I thought you had to collect the most points instead of not. so I was very happy with my over 1.600 points leaving number 2 way behind me with just over 700. I still don't understand Steven and Richard were so happy with only having 400 points.

After a short night (well, I guess some of the players would have considered it a long night) the next day started off saying goodbye to the hostess, who strangely enough invited us to stay again next year. First game against the Chaos of Zorror. As usual I got behind 1-0 very fast again. But like game one on saturday, they players of my opponent were leaving the pitch in hordes, only this time a bit to late. Hoping to get a win in the end I tried to GFI and got wat I usually get. The fabled 1. so it took me two turns and lots of exiting dice rolls more to finally get the 1-1. choas left on the pitch: 1.

The last game was sensational. Sorry I forgot your name, but I'll never forget that game. Chaos Dwarves so finally some nice AV 9 players, that you can kill more easy. Hightlights of that game:

Snotling rolling for a foul against a dwarf and rolling 12 for the injury.
Snotling with sneaky git rolling 3,3 for the foul, but going through the armour. My opponent happy because he get's sent off and then seeing me throwing a nice 6,5 on the injurie roll. Oops, bye bye mino. Not a bad exchange I'd say.
My opponent making a two die block against, versus my Ogre, throwing pushback and Both Down. I suggest him, that if he ignore the Block skill on his dwarf and we both go down, I'd accept that result. It's his best player, but doesn't care and take up the offer. So we both go down and I of course break his armour. Relief for him when the injury was only a stunt.
And the last, most special action was my snotling, who got mighty blow on the doubles, has enough assists to knock over a chaos dwarf and then goes through the armour without mighty blow! Again a sigh of relief from my opponent when the result was only a stun.

Final score was 1-1. So Sam, if you would have used the correct calculation, how high would I have been and would I have won the Stunty Cup?

Thanks to Sjapie, for announcing the error you made at the start of day 2. It doesn't matter anymore what it was, but I do want to mention you taking care of that matter in a good way and having learned for future tournaments to come.

Thanks to Jurgen for not wanting me to hang around at Brassbowl but helping me out to get petrol for the car, chocolates for the lady and playing games with me anyway.

And great thanks to the people who made sure that people could get a drink and food. the people who do a lot of work without many people noticing that they are doing this.

So after saying goodbye to all, we collected out stuff and in pouring rain left Oostende. Four of us in the car now, because Gorbad joined us on the way back, not trusting to go by train again. Sorry the car is not bigger. If you buy me one, we'll be more comfortable next year! :P

And the last words are for the guy I really missed. Ramsay, make sure you are there next year buddy. Brassbowl is not the same without you!

Another Brassbowl gone by and once again we're satisfied to have been able to host a tournament where everybody seems to have enjoyed themselves.

First of all, I've already edited and uploaded the pictures of the event. You can find them in our gallery: http://www.thebrassman.org/Brassmen/Web ... llery.aspx.
Feel free to add pictures yourself to the gallery.

Then second things I needed to mention as well:
1. Thanks to our sponsors, especially Impact Miniatures. In the end event I did forget to mention them. They also provided us with the help needed to cast the brassman model.
2. Thanks to Tom Dewulf, for sculpting the mini brassman figure that everyone took home.

Then as a player I'd like to thank all my opponents (Wouter, Pieter, Mats, Tom and Jord). All games were really fun, but especially the games versus Matts, Tom and Jord were really exciting. The others were good fun as well, but I had uncanny dicerolls which made those games a bit onesided. Weirdest game was versus Jord with dodging trollslayers, a slippery pitch (in a blizzard), the crowd with eaglesharp vision passing balls to Jord's trollslayer who then makes the winning dodge and pass. Great game, one of my all time favourites (it ranks up there with the 2003 real final (Draco's Flings versus my Gobbo's).

Then just because I couldn't resist this. As I'm the only one that Mats didn't win against this weekend and I got beat by Jord, does that mean Jord is the champion? (I have to pay back the loyal Grinders Fanbase).

As always, I hope everyone enjoyed himself. In case of any remarks, especially things we could have done better, contact us (same mail addresses) and we'll make sure things get corrected.

Just made it back home, I really enjoyed the tournament big thank you to everyone who made it happen, and thanks to Christophe for looking after me and Lowsman. Congrats to all the winners and MC for winning the Belgium championship.

On the pitch had a great time playing skaven again, thx and apologies to all my opponents who I think I pulled off some fluky plays against each one. Last game against magictobe's woodelves was a manic 4-4 draw which I won't ever forget and was a great game to play in last round off the tournament.

Off the pitch was very fun too, was good to see all the Belgium's who I played at the world cup again, the dutch guys as always and meet some new people as well. I got to eat THECHICKEN which has been an ambition of mine for some time now.

Robert has got me hooked on Duvel, am off to find where I can get a case or two...

Just got back too, and want to echo the same. Fantastic tournament again, and the social side is worth going out to for without even the games!

Cheers to all my opponents for tolerating all my luck over the weekend :)
