I might pass up doubles on any Elf Thrower, and sometimes on a Pro Elf Catcher, 'cause he starts with the best doubles skill for him anyway. Once in awhile a Dwarf, esp. right at the outset (though I might get SS).

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Elf thrower hmm? On a high elf thrower I usually go strong arm with doubles. A Wood Elf and Pro Elf thrower though, it probably is the wrong choice.
Pro Elf catchers totally benefit from guard. It helps you blitz people off them (and yes, with NoS that isn't as necessary...) I've also given a Pro Elf catcher Dump Off late in his development... it's great when you have a NoS AG4 player Dumping off to a NoS AG4 player with catch!
Pro Elves have the best ways in the game to make an opponent wonder why he is even trying to play defense!
Dwarf longbeards don't ever need doubles. Good call! But Side Step and Diving Tackle both make Longbeards extremely annoying, more so than their facial hair alone.

I almost always take side step on doubles for long beads. Side step+tackle means dodgers hate life. But back to the vamps, NOS is still nagging in the back of my head, but the more practical side of me says I should save the 10k and just go with block. I have a couple of weeks before these guys next match so I have a little while. Now I just have to worry how my Chaos Pact team is going to do without my gobo (he's missing the game, and I don't have enough cash to induce)
