I don't think I said anything Martin , I think you meant BloodBowl Guy.

But I'll way in now (not sure if you'll still thank me).

I'm not wild about Brets in BB.

I don't think they don't belong.
I don't think that another human team would be awful.

I just prefer the other proposed teams. And with limited space in the book and currently zero model support I don't think they have a place in LRB6.

But I'd be OK with using them as house rules in any league is unfortuante to have me as commish. I wouldn't play them but I wouldn't mind if someone else did.

I hear you, but I totally admire Martin's (plasmoid's) persistance. I hated the Dark Elf runner so much that it has been 3 years and I only just decided to put one on my Dark Elf roster! But in truth I just accepted the change and moved on with little fight, hoping others would take it further.

Man, Plasmoid goes after this with a zeal :) I both admire it and love being reasonable :)

Martin,

I figured all the Stand Firm and Jump Up would make them a heavily real-estate-oriented roster. That works well with Wrestle Squires. Now everybody (well, except the Hobgob-clones) has some kind of positioning skill!

How about this? Names after slashes are alternatives if no more than one footbally name be used.

0-16 Commoner/Lineman: 6/3/3/7, G, 40k
0-2 Page/Safety: 7/2/3/7 Dodge, Jump Up, GA, 60k
0-2 Squire/Tackle: 6/3/3/8 Wrestle, GS, 70k
0-4 Knight: 6/3/3/9 Block, Stand Firm, GS, 100k
70k RRs? 60k? Something like that.

Alternate: bump the Squire/Tackle to 90k and tack on Fend, or to 80k at AV7. That's a very Squire-y skill.

What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Like your Idea, but want to come up with something different, though, as this team is not far away from the human team in my opinion.

0-16 Peasants: 40k; 6 3 2 7; Animosity, Wrestle; G - Linefodder that is good at nothing
0-2 Squires: 60k; 7 2 3 7; Dodge, Side Step; A
0-2 Knight Errant: 100k; 7 3 3 8; Dauntless, Regen; G
0-2 Knight of the Realm: 110k; 6 3 3 9; Block, Guard, Regen; GS
0-2 Questing Knight: 120k; 6 4 3 9; Loner, Juggernaut, Regen; GS
0-1 Grail Knight: 130k; 5 4 3 9; Pro, Stand Firm, Block, Regen; GS

No Apo for the team. RR cost 60K

Edited Animosity and Wrestke.
I don't think that ST4 / Block on a single Player is that of a big deal, but we can talk about that. 6339, Pro, SF, Block regen for the same cost is just as good (even better, i think).
This team seems to be really challenging

I like that quote. Its so true.

Anyway, I think on balance there are probably some existing teams that I would not have added to the game officially.

I don't dislike new teams for their own sake, but I think some teams aren't really different enough from other teams to justify a separate official existence. It would be nice to have optional teams that are sort of semi official so we can keep adding teams without having to worry quite as much about mini support and balance (I'd encourage all optional teams to be tier 2 or 3).

Hi Guys,

Fair enough.. Personally, I have no love lost for the Slann team, but that's a discussion for another time. If they were fighting for space in a physical LRB6 book, I'd be inclined to agree. They're not the most popular new team. (Well, they won the poll in the MBBL, but that is also a discussion for another time).

But like Jural said, they're a quite logical addition, which is why I don't really get the violent opposition.

Jural said:

Thanks.... I guess
I would have preferred visionary to unreasonable myself, but hey. :smoking:

Jural said:

Not the kind of thing to argue with :) ... but:
I actually have no dillusions that they could ever get into LRB6.
And I haven't created any Bretonnian threads here or on SG for a year or so. Only responded to the posts of others.
It's just that when I see certain bullucks'ey arguments, I can't help myself but reply
But really, I've mostly I've just been responding to people asking specifically about Bretonnians.

Ian said:

Me too, me too.
But I admit I'm mostly on the Warhammer World camp, even if it is an alternative version. The world of Armorica just doesn't do anything for me, and all the S&M clad players aren't cool to me either. So personally I'd be cutting away a lot of those non-warhammer teams.

Rodders said:

I wish that was an actual question, and not just a comment.
As noted, I've only been responding, not generating, for roughly a year.
Which means that others like the concept too.
Even if we are in the minority.

Your "dislike doesn't prevent that.

I see it like this (knowing that it probably makes me sound like a sanctimonious git ):
Even though the anti-Bret crowd is the majority, and the pro crowd the minority, I still think that adding the team in would cause more "joy" than "grief". Because it probably isn't that big a deal to most of the anties, while it is quite a big deal to a Bret fan, who wants to play them in BB.

Not too eloquent that. An example:
I don't like the necro team. I really don't. I think that a B-movie team has nothing to do in BB whatsoever. It's only one step away from a robot team or similar nonsense.
But seriously - it just doesn't bother me that much in the big scheme of things..
And I know my friend enjoys playing the necros.
Heck - I've even had some enjoyable games against his necro team (even if I think it is a big friggin eyesore).

On that happy note :D....
Cheers
Martin :D

How 'bout the team ditches the knights and stick to the peasants. BB has more of a commoners feel to it anyway. I bet the knights hang around chess tables or golf courses. This way the Bretonnian team could be a low-cost and low-starting-skill team.

Say:

0-16 Commoners 6 3 3 7 G 40k
0-2 Throwers 6 3 3 7 Sure hands GP 60k
0-4 Runners 8 3 3 7 Dodge GA 70k
0-4 Blitzers 7 3 3 8 Block GS 90k

Modelled on the humans and Tier 2 all the way.

Or if you want knights:

0-16 Commoners 6 3 3 7 Loner G 40k
0-6 Knights 7 3 3 8 Block GSA 120k

Modelled on the vampires and Tier 2.

That's not a 70k player on a team with S access. He might look it on paper, but looks can be deceiving. He's a Ghoul with +MA; that's more like 90k, except on an elf team.

And even on an elf team, this guy with AG4 would be way better than a HE or even PE Catcher because of Dodge, and is worth an easy 100k, or maybe even 110k if you get 0-4 blitzers as well (the Wardancer is so cheap for what he does only because he's the team's only real Blitzer option).

You're right about 70k being a bit on the cheap side. When you look at the roster as a whole, these guys are exceptional. I didn't really give too much though on the numbers. I just had those two ideas and suddenly ran out of time when posting them, as I was posting from work.
