Tourney 1.1M with Norse

Post by Xod »

Hi,

I want to play with a Norse team in a 1.1M tourney, but I'm not sure what to take.

1 snowtroll
2 ulfs
2 runners
1 berserker
1 thrower
5 linos
(=12 guys)
2 RR
and some AC and CL

or

1 snowtroll
2 ulfs
2 runners
1 berserker
6 linos
(=12 guys)
2 RR
1 apothecary

but then I don't got a thrower to give leader to, but I do got an apo for those fallen norse beer belchers

or

1 snowtroll
2 ulfs
2 runners
2 berserker
5 linos
(=12 guys)
2 RR
and 1 AC

no throwers, but 5 frenzy players

I read that the berserkers are overrated, but still, there the only ones who can get guard easily

tell me what you think

Thanks,

Xod

Personally I would like some more information about your tournament, e.g. does it use regen rules, rulebook ect ect

Assuming lbr5 with total reset of all the death ect and with gaining a few skills..

My personal oppinion would be to scrap the apo. You will not need it since it does not really keep your players on the pitch and its not guaranteed to work at all.(e.g. heal a non BH player and endingup with another result then BH) get another reroll instead

I like the big guy since he does not loose his TZ. Just remember to use him last to prevent undue damage to the rest of your team..

I am unsure about the ulf’s. ST4 is nice, but lack of block combined with fenzy is going to make you eat those rerolls. (unless you go for one with juggernaut…)

Your thrower is not really needed except maybe for that leader reroll (still, I like to take one or 2)

2 runner and 2 bezerkers are a good one. Speed (move 7 and maybe dodge skill, is great)other combo’s thinkable. And your bezerkers are good for guard.

I’d go for blitzing as many people off the pitch with your combined franzy as possible. Play on the sides and your chances will come eventually. Just make sure you have that assist ready on the second block. And get that extra reroll

Remember AV7 only means you are better off blocking since if your opponant is down, he is not doing much blocking and each time you get him down, he might get hurt…

I use this list.

2 x runner
2 x berserker
4 x lineman
2 x ulf
2 x thrower
3 x re-roll

12 men with 4 guys who can do the sideline pushing as a team. :D

Has worked well for me so far. The only thing i don't like about norse is that AV 7. I get scared when i see lots of my guys it the deck. :o

Without knowing the skill set I can't be certain but I'd be thinking:

140 Snow Troll
180 2 Beserkers
180 2 Runners
400 8 Linos
180 3 Rerolls
20 an AC and CL

Pubbowler, I take it you do not like ulf's either?
Is that just tounry talk or do you use them during a noram never ending league (or not)?

Without knowing the skill set it's tricky but Ulfs pretty much have to be given Block (Frenzy without Block=TO machine).

That's a skill which everyone else (with the exception of the Snow Troll gets from the get go).

Probably better to get Guard on the Blitzers. skill up the Runners etc etc.

In a league they're great and I'd start with both (and no Blitzers).

But if you get a bunch of skills (more than about 6 say) then I might find room for them. But I'm not sure what i'd drop, the teams is pretty lean as it is.
