TV1.1M Chaos with Skills

Post by ClayInfinity »

Hi,

Am playing in a Res tournament and am keen to use my new Chaos team.

Its a 1.1M tourney and regular skills can be bought...

So I am thinking:

4 Chaos Warriors (2 with block, 1 with Claw, 1 with Leader)
8 Beastmen (1 with Extra Arms)
2 Rerolls

As much as I want to use the Mino figure, a Big Guy is too unreliable and at $150K its expensive.

Essentially, the CWs will be the driving force of the team and the Beastmen will be speed bumps...

Any thoughts, pro's or con's?

Cheers
Clay

My thought is that CWs can't get Leader as a regular skill. In its place I'd put Sure Hands on someone. Picking up always costs (me) a reroll...

Can you not put two skills on one player? I'd put Claw and Block on the same CW, if possible.

As nice as Leader is I would have though more Block or Guard would help.

I would propably take Mighty Blow over Claws as it helps against the Low AV teams, where as claws does nothing against AV 7 Elves & Skaven.

Yes, I think you can double skill, but I am not sure I am keen to put all my eggs in one basket...

And the Extra Arms beastman is the ball picker-up guy... but I wasnt aware Leader wasnt available to CW's... with 2 RR's I think its a necessity and hence may give it to a beastman instead.

Thats a good point... MBlow may be best all round... will suss out the races of the competition. We're expecting around 20 players, so there will be diversity and hence I presume some low AV teams.

Leader is a Passing Skill, hense why the Chaos Warriors (and Beastmen) can only get it on a Double.

Ooh, is it?

OK.. will rethink that. You can take doubles, but the cost may not be worth it.

Of course the cost is worth it! It's a half-price TRR!

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Extra Arms is good for catching the ball. Big Hand is good for picking up the ball. Sure Hands is always good for picking up the ball and/or not losing the ball to strip ball.

There is no "I" in "TEAM", but there is an "M" and an "E", and that spells "ME"

Extra Arms is also good for picking up the ball. Big Hand doesn't help most of the time, in fact it's very rarely of use to a Chaos team. Much more useful for teams that expect people to be standing nearby when they grab the ball (Skaven and Chaos Pact).

Yes, Extra Arms is +1 to pickup, pass and catch. Hence its a generalist skill. Sure Hands is used once in the pick up but does prevent the strip. Big Hand is great for picking up in Zones but does nothing else.

I find Extra Arms is good because it effectively gives you AG4 for ball movement (passing and catching). Two Extra Arm beastmen are great!

Extra arms doesnt help passing. It "only" gives +1 to pickup, catch and intercept NOT pass.

Still its a good skill once a couple of warriors and beastmans have block. In this tourney EA is a good deal IMO.

I would take Sure Hands over Big Hand or Extra Arms in a tournie team.
To much Strip Ball about IMO.

If you have doubles available the Leader on a CW isn't a bad choice (better than a Beastman as he is more durable).

I favour Block over Claw but you might want to think about Frenzy on a Beastman to threaten Blodgers and effect your opponents tactics. [/i]
