skellies and zombies...why not?

Post by bound for glory »

heres the thing. i run a pretty big league 2 times a year(next one starts 3rd sat. of april), and we get alot of players. one asked me the other day an interesting question: why can't skellies feild a team of there own.
and he did'nt mean just one posittion ether. what about throwers and catchers etc? zombies too.i got a long time coach who has an amazing all zombie team just waiting to play. has it been done? any thoughts? abd while i'm at it, why the hell are human catchers STILL st 2? you mean a human catchers is only as strong as a gobbo and weaker than a 'zon catcher...

It depends on the whole teams construction, not as induvidual characters.

An all Zombie Team? Who's going to be picking up the ball?

I think an all Zombie team may be a fun idea but will not stand a chance of doing well in a league. A whole team with MA 4 and AG 2 is not a winning prospect.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

what i was thinking of was creating real team rosters for the two. throwers, catchers, blizters, lineman. why not?

And they have actually won 20% of there games! With a couple of +St players and all the Block it is propably not much worse than a Goblin team overall.

I accept that some coaches are very experienced and can get the best out of the most unlikely looking roster.

However, I still think that you'd have to be extremely gifted or lucky to win a league or tournament with an all Zombie team.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a shambling undead Zombie horde.

I'd love to see someone bold enough or crazy enough to take an all Zombie team to the Blood Bowl GT.

I've often thought how cool it would be to have an all-Zombie roster with rules reflecting different types of Zombie. E.g. 28 Days Later "fast" zombies 6337 Frenzy, Jump Up, Regen.

I like Joe's ideas, but I am not enough of a zombie movie fan to really understand it all.

Here's the two teams I would propose as "zombie teams" and "skeleton teams."

They are roughly based off the orc and human teams turned into zombies and skeletons (respectively) with no big man or stunties.

Zombie Squad

0-16 zombies 4 3 2 8 Regen G 40k
0-4 Blitzers 5 3 2 8 Block, Regen GS 70k
0-2 Runners 5 3 2 7 Sure Hands, Sure Feet, Regen GP 60k
0-4 Blockers 3 4 1 8 Regen GS 70k

Re-rolls: 70k

Skeleton Squad

0-16 Skeletons 5 3 2 7 Regen, Thick Skull G 40k
0-4 Blitzers 6 3 2 7 Block, Regen, TS GS 80k
0-2 Throwers 5 3 2 7 Sure Hands, Pass, Regen, GP 60k
0-4 Catchers 7 2 2 7 Catch, Dodge, Regen, TS 60k

Re-rolls: 60k

I'm positive those squads would be more functional than an all skeleton or all zombie line-up. I'm also pretty sure the teams would clearly not be Tier 1, and maybe not even Tier 2.

Test-Team Khemri
0-16 Lineman 5 3 2 7 Regenerate, Thick Skull G 40K
0-2 Catcher 5 3 2 7 Regenerate, Thick Skull, Sure Feet, Catch GA 60K
0-2 Thrower 5 3 2 7 Regenerate, Thick Skull, Sure Hands, Pass GP 60K
0-4 Mummy 3 5 1 9 Regenerate, Mighty Blow S 110K

Really like the idea but I wouldn't want to face that zombie without a hefty price tag.
