I'm already an AusBowl member. You know this, 'cos you've replied to some of my posts there.

:smoking:

The tournament scene ended in 2005. Or 2004. Or sometime before I started playing, anyway. And that tourney was in Auckland, so I wouldn't have gone anyway (it smells).

Yea, I can help out, though I don't know how. You can PM me on AusBowl if you have any ideas.

7 posts... how the heck am I supposed to remember you from 7 posts??? :?:

There are better guys than me to ask about tournament Advice....

But for league, the best thing to do is start a well organised league and get the word out there. Get players in and active. Recruit like mad. Even host small tourneyments if you can...

Leagues grow, be public and proactive and yours will too.

We grew from 6 guys to 30 in just two+ years!

If you start small, just have short seasons. Find a good online engine for displaying the stats and results and your league will absolutely take off! (PM me for tips there) In between seasons you can alter the peramaters and cater to the growh. Heck if you get enough pick ups, you could change mid season if you need!!

We have a custom site for our league.. the guy who wrote it has a baby now, so he hasn't updated it for the 11s games we're playing at the moment, but you can check out our sevens site at http://www.pixietwin.com/wobbl/

We're not great at recruiting (face it, it's not easy to ask a passing acquaintance if they've ever heard of a game called Bloodbowl), but we've gained twice as many players as we've lost over the last year or so. However, we still can't get more than three games per month, usually less. It would be easier if we were all 15 or 20 years younger.. we'd be in school. Free time rules.

Apathy reigns. In the local wargaming club there's also a league, but they're even less successful at maintaining interest. According to their forums, there hasn't been a game there since the beginning of December!

Sounds like you need a motivator.

Start waving that flag. Get your guys onto Ausbowl and heve them host your forums. There are plenty of guys there trying to generate interest n the hobby and the game.

You have a good site there... Just need the Mod to light a fire under it!

Hit up all those gaming clubs and get them involved!

We play weekly here in BABBL and not many that join up look back!
