so from this im gathering that wood elves are more expensive player wise and get hurt easily, but have a stronger big guy (treeman) while skaven suffer from the same weakness but are alot cheaper, have a worse bog guy but are more fun to play?
i think modeling opps. tip the scales for me, skaven will prolly bemy next team./

Just remember with Skaven that your Gutter Runners are the most important players. Storm Vermin and the RO are there to try and cause some CAS (or crowd push), Blitz and bolster defensive drives but it's the four Gutter Runners that will do most stuff for you. Linemen are almost completely disposable and Throwers aren't that important (but do have some uses).

Exactly. They play differently for sure.fen wrote:Just remember with Skaven that your Gutter Runners are the most important players. Skaven have the 4 GRs do everything, with the Blitzers and ROs used as utility players, and the Linerats just get in the way. So the play is centered around the GRs.
Wood Elves have great Catchers and Wardancers, but their throwers are probably the best in the game, and their linemen with MV7 and AG4 can handle the ball almost as well as any other player on the team. So strategies and game play tends to get spread-out across all players (on the more successful teams at least).

Skaven is like the discount version of woodelves. They share many of the same characteristics but tend to focus their game on fewer players, were woodelves are all primadonnas and every single player has the potential to do great things. Its like a full blood race horse vs a hmmm.....not so full blooded horsestudderingdave wrote:so from this im gathering that wood elves are more expensive player wise and get hurt easily, but have a stronger big guy (treeman) while skaven suffer from the same weakness but are alot cheaper, have a worse bog guy but are more fun to play?

With woodelves your more likely to have a beaten up roster with few remaining players, but you will also have the best team (of your league) if you manage to build it.

im actually looking at ogres as well as a second team. maybe something "counts as" with a nurgle theme, i was thinking diseased ogres and nurglings counting as snotlings.
can anyone gimme soem pointers on ogres? i realize they are smashy like orcs, but i dont want to run alot of ogres, focusing more on the actually snotlinhs and how amazingly bad they are. maybe after the decent success ive been having with orcs i need to get beaten back donw to ground level with a team that from what i know so far is pretty bad.

Skaven have cheap road bumps who can't dodge. That makes for a different playing style in my experience to woodies.FischerKing wrote:Skaven is like the discount version of woodelves. They also will have 3-4 Gutter runners, compared to the fewer (initially at least) wood elf catchers.ianwilliams wrote:Skaven have cheap road bumps who can't dodge.
