Kick's never redundant but Amazons can't use it the way Elves do.

But Kick has merits in clock control & forcing the pace all of it's own.

I'd still take it.

Since you have a thrower I'd put the surehands on her. The throwers job isnt to make grand passing plays but to pickup the ball and deliver it to whoever you want to score. The only reason that a thrower is any better at this is because sometimes you will want to throw instead of handoff and pass comes in handy there. Also once she gets accurate (3rd skill) she can throw a very reliable quick pass which is effectively an extended handoff.

Kick isnt redundant but its not an essential either.

I'd take the throwers, the skill options are really good.

Also getting most of your linewomen with block or wrestle is important for long term survival.

I was thinking the following (not planning on 3rd skills for most of them, as I don't expect AV7 players to survive all that long).

Starting team:
Thrower (first skill sure hands, then KoR, and hope to survive long enough to get HMP).
4 blitzers (get mighty blow on two, and guard on two, then the other skill on each, doubles get diving tackle, possibly dauntless as a third skill for any of them that gget there).
7 linewomen. First to skill up get's Kick, then the next gets sure hands, then block on the next two and wrestle on the others. Any doubles get guard, possibly sneaky git once I've got some guard.
4 RR
20k saved for an apoth.

Buying an apoth first, then another thrower (who gets block, HMP and leader in no particular order).
Finally, two catchers (diving tackle first, then sidestep, and jump up, and as they hog SPP they may just get to wrestle as well).

If a thrower gets a double I'm going the strong arm/accurate route just to have another option to my playstyles (the same for a +AG).

Looks like I'm going to have 15 players. I can live with that.

Dont forget frenzy. On a linewomen that allready has block, or even on a blitz. I loved my frenzy blitzer very much.

yep, frenzy on one of them is awesome. Make sure she has block first. Then she can crowd surf or really clear a hole for you.

side step on doubles for blitzers is a real pain in the ass too

I imagine sidestep is a pain. I know I had a lot of fun with it back with my old pro-elf team :D

I think my blitzers have enough skills on the waiting list already. If one gets to 4th skill I will definitely consider frenzy.

Linewomen on the other hand, I can see getting frenzy quite quickly after block :P

Thanks again for all the input guys, I do appreciate it.

Coming from my gobbo team last league (very bashy league it was) the one thing I'm looking forwards to the most is a simple three word phrase. 'I have block' :D

Everything else these women do (like getting to two/three skills before dying off) is just gravy.

get 3 linewomen block, then the next one that skills up, give her frenzy. after that, give a couple side step. and if you roll doubles on one, GUARD!

That way, when you are on defense, your side steppers can get into position to assist your frenzy girl when it's your turn. It'll drive your opponant nuts. I do that occassionally with my Dark Elves, linos and witches. Ought to see the guy when I put that witch on the line. don't do it often, but when I do, it usually works out.

This works with Elves because they have normal access to Side Step.

Only Amazon Catchers do. Not linos.

My bad. I was thinking they had AG access. They don't, just general. Ok, scratch the side step. So give them all fend. Keep the bad guys away from your girlies.
