I had my doubts, but it sounds like its working. And that is the point, isn't it?

I'd still use my catchers for something other than running the ball. They are too easy to knock down and have the ball taken.

I haven't really got to use the strong arm skill yet, but I will

... or did you mean that the inducements worked? It did, too good too be true!

I meant team developement. A throwing blitzer especially. But if it's winning games, run with it.

Star Players are the only really powerful inducements (and even then, only some of them are). Almost everything else costs more than it would to simply have more players/rerolls/whatever on your team in the first place.

I've never had problems playing against opposing Star Players, but I used Count Luthor in a recent match and he really helped to turn the game around for me. I'm starting to think that Star Players should all have their prices increased by 50-100k to be balanced.

Not every team have good inducements.

Humans TV100 (4 blitzers, 2 catchers, 5 rerolls) with Zug and Griff was a hit against TV 165 Underworld

When I played Lizardmen TV 102 (6 saurus, 5 skinks, 4 rerolls) with diving tackle skink mercs vs. Underworld was a wrecking turn over maker.

Some teams don't benefit from being TV 100. Chaos etc will still have problems against high TV teams becuse the lack of skills, and its a big diffrence on what you play against.

Inducements are good, but sometimes it's broken and the 30-35% winning is around 50% winning or more, just in my experience.

If you start a new team in an already going on league, it can sometimes be wise NOT to take to many positionals as starting team. It's better to have a positional Merc with an extra skill. Lets say a human thrower with 2 inbuilt rerolls (sure hands and pass) and give him block. Much better than your own player, and its good to have to help build up some winning games before getting your own.

Some stars are über! Count Luthor (dodge), Eldril (dodge, catch), Jordell (dodge), Griff (dodge, sure feet), Zzarg (pass, sure hands) etc.

I think starplayers should have LESS reroll based skills and more of diffrent skills. It would be better in the gamemechanics.

I have not so much experience with stars, but as I see it the more reroll based skills the better the stars.

Hi Stashman,
Again I have to say that a human team 100 TV vs underworld 167 TV was a joke!!! Griff, Zug and apo and with 4 blitzers, 2 catchers and 5 rerolls, the "overdog" was soo under in all ways!
The MBBL is currently playtesting a modified star player list that would at least give you less inducement power.
At least that would help a bit :)
That being said, Underworld is supposed to be a tier 2.5 team, so I guess they can never expect to be better than a tier 1 team, no matter how much team building they do....?

Cheers
Martin :)

I would think teir 2 team could be built into a winning team, would just be frustrating for a while. If they don't get killed off early.

After playing a skaven team I realise that I need blitzers to be blitzers

It's good to experiment with strategies before the real season starts off :P

I think I go for:

4 Blitzers
2 Throwers
5 Lineman
5 Rerolls (try to skill up fast with all blitzers getting a mix of Tackle, Guard & Mighty Blow)

I'm experimenting with a norse team with 5 rerolls, and that's definitely too many. 5 apothecaries, now that would be good...
