Ogre Team Tactics Help
I currently have an Ogre team with a TV of 136 and 6 Ogres and 8 Snotlings. I already have some skills on my team, a snotty with Sprint and Sure Feet, Ogres have Guard. What other skills would you suggest I take for our new upcoming season. I am really unsure what to give Snotlings as 1st and 2nd skills. I guess Ogres just go with Guard and Block on doubles.

You want your Ogres to dish out damage, so consider Piling On with at least 2 of them. I don't know about guard, as snotlings need usually 3 assists for 2 die blocks.
If you are already guard heavy, consider going with Multiple Block, and then Block on Doubles.
Starting from scratch, I'd probably want the following skills on my ogres:
Piling On X2 (Block or Jump-Up on doubles)
Break Tackle X2 (Dodge or Frenzy on doubles.)
Guard x2 (Side Step on doubles, or Stand Firm on Advance 2... then make sure your other ogres get some multiple block.)
If a player rolled doubles first, it's hard to pass up Frenzy for me.

Well, you have to start with at least 5 snotlings, and you can't have reserves if you're using journeymen, so it's not a good long-term plan. The long-term plan for Snotlings usually consists of replacing 1 or 2 of them after every game, though.wedge22 wrote:So have a team of 6 Ogres and all the Snots are journeymen, thats a new idea.
There aren't many skills that are useful on snotlings, IMO. You could argue that a snotling with a regular skill is a bad thing to have, since it doubles the player's TV without doubling its effectiveness.

Snotling skill number one is Diving Tackle.
Enables you to actually cage without an Elf waltz through your Titchy TZs.
Just don't think that it means you stand him next to players.
Other choices are Sprint, Sure Feet, Sneaky Git & Catch.

When I played Ogres, I found Sure Feet to be the key skill. If a snot trips they die... Once you get outnumbered, your Ogres will get kicked.PubBowler wrote:Snotling skill number one is Diving Tackle.
Ogres are all about getting the Dukes Up. If you can't get an advantage in the fight you will lose BAD!
Don't be affraid to give an Ogre 'Tackle' if you are keen to win a match. The Lack of Block/Wrestle and Tackle means that there is no stopping some teams.
Give as many Ogres as you can Pile On, and get that on pitch advantage.
Have your snots support your Ogres but try to stay out of players tackle Zones.
Try not to Trip! If you fail a Dodge or GFI you will likely get K/Oed or worse.
My Best Advice is to remember that this is an Ogre team! Use the Snots to help the Ogres Shine... Don't try to get the Snots to hog the Glory and score all your TDs.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I am going to give my Snots a mixture of Sure Feet and Diving Tackle for there 1st and 2nd skills, maybe alternate it between Snots. As for the Ogres I guess Piling On is one of the best options for me as Guard is not really needed when you have 6 Strength 5 players on the pitch. What would you take as a 2nd skill after piling on?

Why? Because your expensive ogre will be in the turf, waiting to be fouled to death
And if you fail bonehead, he will keep there, watching turf as it grows, waiting for a new round of boot (i mean, a new foul).
So... that's what you want for your bashing ogres? To throw themselves to the floor and keep there?

Break tackle, Juggernaut, Stand Firm for me. I tend to play near the edges so the latter two help with crowd pushes.
Strong Arm on one ogre.
