Underworld starting roster

Post by iik0n »

Hi,

My league is allowing the three new teams and I'm thinking about underworld. Now as for starting roster I was thinking of the following.

warpstone troll 110K
2 skaven blitzers 180K
2 skaven lineman 100k
8 goblins 320K
4 RR 280K

10K saved for apo

Now my q's are should I drop a RR and get the apo or should I do something completely else.....

thanks everyone
David

I've got a new underworld team with 4 games under my belt. I find that the skaven throwers and blitzers really are the key guys in this team, so would suggest you start with two of each. 4 RRs is always good with Ag3 and goblins.

I would suggest:

warpstone troll 110K
2 skaven blitzers 180K
2 skaven throwers 140K
1 skaven linerat 50K
6 Goblins 240K

4 RR 280K

First buy would be an aptho. Or you could drop the line rat get the apotho and prey for a non bashy first game. Only ever use the apotho on Rats and enjoy a bizarre, quick, very fluid, game style.

Agree with the above. From what I have seen the Throwers and Blitzers are your "must have" players. 4 RRs would normally seems like a luxury on a team with fragile players, but i guess its cheaper to spend 40K on a goblin than 140K on a re-roll later on.

Oh, and get Tentacles on your Troll. Nasty. :)

Hi iik0n,
enjoy your underworld team - they're tons of fun :)

Perhaps you can find some inspiration in this thread:

Coincidentally, I'm hoping to add another post in the next few days, now that my underworld team has reached 18 games or so, and are going on a break (but definately returning sooner or later).

Cheers
Martin

I personally went for the following starting lineup;

Warpstone Troll: 110k
2 Blitzers: 180k
1 Thrower: 70k
2 Linemen:100k
5 Goblins: 200k
4 Re-Rolls: 280k
FF 1: 10k
Apothecary: 50k

A bit risky considering the general fragility of the team, but I wanted the Apothecary from the beginning in case the Skaven got maimed or killed. The Goblins are relatively cheap enough to replace in comparison...

Thanks everybody for the replies.

I think I'm gonna go with the roster Meles proposed. Thinking about it the speed will do me good and Sure hands/Pass will give me RR's that I can use for probably that necessary Blitz... 8)

I'll posting a blog when I have my first couple of games cuz I probably will need some more "assistance" skillwise then. :-?

Thanks

David

Sounds good to me. I think starting with 12, if at all possible, is always the way to go. Of course, I'm ignoring this with my newest rookie team ...
