Welcome to my world Galak, your closer to some of these guys than I am but have been asking these questions for years offering to hold thousands of pounds of merchandise in bulk but they wont budge. They are simply not interested.GalakStarscraper wrote:Right now ... I'm a bit depressed because I've had BBFigs.com try 3 different plans with GW to get the newer OOP figures into our store (like Zara, the Chainsaw Dwarf, Hack Enslash, etc.) and all 3 of my proposals were turned down by GW.
1) I was told that the time on the casting machines is fully booked and thus I could not make a special contract order of these figures even I paid full retail for them. (regardless of the size of my order)
2) I've been told that GW at this time is not interested into blister packing them and selling them in sets (like Grim Ironjaw + both weapon Dwarves) which I was willing to place a large order of.
3) Final one came today when I tried to see if GW would allow me to pay a licensing fee to cast figures from their moulds with a different casting company (this is the arrangement I have with Phigs and am trying to finalize with ZN Games). I was told that GW would never allow another company to cast figures from their moulds.
So ... its a bit depressing to be at 3 strikes and out on this. So at a minimum if GW doesn't want my cash ... I'm more than willing to give it as a gift to the NAF so that I can play the 3 new teams and be NAF ranked for doing so.

My biggest problem Jason is this. I've worked 19 years for a business consulting firm.Tritex wrote:Welcome to my world Galak, your closer to some of these guys than I am but have been asking these questions for years offering to hold thousands of pounds of merchandise in bulk but they wont budge. Sooo ... IF your casting machines are running at 100% every day (I was told they are scheduled to the minute everyday).
IF that is true then should you not consider another casting machine?
It would just seem to be bad business to turn away work. Set up a casting machine and hire one person to take contract casting orders and one maybe 2 people to run the casting machine for it. I bet if you did that you could charge pretty decent money to do contract casting on it.

So it just confusing to me that they live money off the table. Maybe its just you and me emailing them ... but I have a hard time believing that is the case.

Didn't we all have a long discussion a few months ago about the level of intelligence within the upper echelons of GW?
I don't see the problem with using GW's rules set and then employing other figs for the actual teams. If GW isn't interested in putting out the figs, let somebody else do it. I'm sure GW wouldn't be happy about BBfigs.com or Tritex to be creating Slann figs, and would probably take some nasty business action against you, but if Reaper or some other company started making figs usable as Slann, I don't see the problem. If GW wants to hold back their own sales, more power to them. Let someone else fill the need.
And, of course, if there were some long-legged Elf Ball players suddenly offered somewhere, I'm sure somebody would buy them.

It's a Dark Elf world, we just let you live in it to provide fresh victims. - and I still want an Executioner to kill sauruses with.
