Deathroller SPP

Post by Biggen79 »

Hello.

Been reading here: viewtopic.php?t=20382&highlight=deathroller+spp but didn´t get the hang of it.

Does the Deathroller get SPP for normal casulties when he throws Blocks even though he is a secret weapon himself??

The only thing that prevents most secret weapon players from getting SPPs is the fact that their weapons are often better than a basic block (chainsaws are the best example) soi because they are not blocking they do not casualty SPPs as those are reserved for casualties caused by a block and a block only.

The deathroller makes a block action when it wants to run over someone, so yes, it does get the SPPs.

To obligatory text block...

Casualties (CAS): If a player causes an opposing player to be removed as a Casualty then they earn 2 Star Player points. The points are only earned if the player blocks an opponent or is blocked by an opponent himself. Casualties inflicted in any other way (including injuries inflicted by the crowd or from attacks with chainsaws, bombs, or the Stab skill) do not count for Star Player points.

And in specific refernce to chainsaw...

Chainsaw (Extraordinary)
A player armed with a chainsaw must attack with it instead of making a block as part of a Block or Blitz Action.

it's not just better, it's mandatory. However, I think you can get spp on them if someone else throws a block against your chainsaw and skulls but I'm not certain.

Edit to add: nevermind the last bit...Casualties caused by a chainsaw player do not count for Star Player points.

Should have stuck with your first guess.

If a player blocks a Chainsaw and knocks himself down ... and is injured yes the Chainsaw gets the SPPs for it.

That's interesting. I thought it was supposed to play that way, then I re-read chainsaw. Since that last line I added is a direct quote from the bottom of Chainsaw, I can see a reasonable argument made to say that they don't ever get cas spp. Either way works for me, I generally think that SW goblins don't get spp fast enough relative to their usually short lifetimes.

I agree with Ian's post above .. yes to everything (I believe that to be the intention of the rules).

However I agree that a really strict reading of the text would lead one to believe that the chainsaw player should not get the 2 SPPs.

So if you are an exact text man ... no SPPS ... if you go by intent ... yes SPPs. (if Snew or DL were still on this forum ... no way in hell would I have even answered this question).

Hmmmmm....

Don't forget to REWRITE chainsaw skill!!!!

(so the chainsaw guy gets the spps)
