Stats for the Nurgles

Post by BigD »

Okay, BBMag5 has just come in complete with the Nurgles Stats. Figured people might be keen to know about these. I sure was.

0 - 12 Nurgle Beastmen 60K 6 3 3 8 Horns
0 - 6 Rotter 110K 5 4 3 9 Foul Appearance
0 - 1 Beast 160K 3 6 1 10 Foul Appearance, Mighty Blow, Regenerate, Stand Firm, Tentacles, Thick Skull, Big Guy, Really Stupid.

Nurgle Beastmen - General, Strength, Physical
Rotter - General, Strength, Physical

Look like a fun team. Now just to get the figures I guess

Hmm how come they can get 6 rotters, when normal choas only get 4 warriors and for only an extra 10k they get foul appearence as well.

Apart from that they look fine, that beast is nasty work, but expensive and stupid.

I presume they are not able to hire an ordinary Big guy in addition to the Beast?

The rule book says only one big guy per team, except halflings and goblins, so the question is, are they counted as choas for regards to the other big guys. I would say no, but who knows for sure ;]

Hmmmm ....

My thoughts on this team ...

:puke:

0-4 Rotter would have been much better (also the rot tears away at the bodies stability) ... I would have gone with AV 8 and left the price at 100k rather than give the team 6 hyped up CWs ... again :puke:

Okay the Rotter looks like a Cross between Troll and Treeman ... I really don't like Big Guys that cost more than 130k so this guy just has waaaayyyy too many stats for me to like him. The 160k is a fair price for him (he comes out to 165k on my calculator), but he's just toooo stat heavy for me.

I really wish I could like something printed in BB Mag without feeling the need to change it ....here's my revision ... this I could live with:

0 - 12 Nurgle Beastmen 60K 6 3 3 8 Horns
0 - 4 Rotter 100K 5 4 3 8 Foul Appearance

Big Guy:
0 - 1 Beast 130K 2 6 1 9 Foul Appearance, Mighty Blow, Regenerate, Tentacles, Big Guy, Really Stupid

Nurgle Beastmen - General, Strength, Physical
Rotter - General, Strength, Physical

Just my two cents.

It's got official figures. If it's experimental, it's not going to be that way for long.

Experimental or not?

Post by BigD »

I haven't had a chance to fully read the article yet. It looks more experimental though but in saying that the figures are listed on the GW-USA site. Also spoke to the Trollz over that way and got told its available for ordering. But like the Ogres not sure whether its available now or to come. I'll post later when I've read the article completely

My opion of this team, dear heavens what are they thinking! This makes the bbmag Brettonian team (which i considered borderline) look weak. 6 chaos warriors with cheap fa and a treeman from elven nightmares (tentacles). Even lizard teams would be weak in comparison and the rotters have better ag. Not to mention even an elven thrower with strong arm and accurate would have a hard time passing once all 7 of the foul appearance guys were in the roster. Obviously the criteria for allowing teams in bbmags is lenient to the point of absurdity.

Personally I think the experimental teams put in the mags are written this way on purpose. They put too much in there so that people will have something to talk about and then they whittle them down to something a bit more realistic or it just becomes a BBRC topic later.

I like Galak's revision to the team except the Big Guy. Regenerate seems a bit much for a ST 6, AV 9, foul appearance player. Pull 2-3 assists just to get a one die block, roll a die to get over FA, break armor, injury... only to have them regenerate. :-?

What is wrong with GW????

When they create a new team it has to be stronger than at least one of the standard teams. Do they think that people only buy a new team of figures if they think it's more likely to win?

Cheers,
Martyn

I agree with Galak's comments completely. His roster seems great, and a quite obvious way to create a nurgle team. Just make sure that beast is an ally option and not on the actual roster.
