Knock ball loose, follow-up move sequence?
This is likely listed/discussed somewhere, but I was unable to find it in the LRB5, and my search fu appears to be weak.
This came up in a game last night, and we were unable to find anything definitive, so we punted, as it were.
Player B is the ball carrier.
Player A (opposing team) blocks player B and scores a POW!, knocking B back and down.
The ball drops from player B's final position.
Does Player A have to decide whether to follow-up, moving into player Bs vacated space BEFORE the bounce direction is determined, or can he wait until after before deciding?
Thanks!

If he wants to Follow Up, he must decide before the bounce.
Of course, if it's a Blitz, he can decide not to Follow Up, see where the ball bounces, then move into that square at the cost of 1 MA.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

1. Block
2. Choose destination of knocked down player (if "Defender Down" or "Defender Stumbles" caused the Knock down
3. Choose if you want to follow up or not
4. Roll for armor and casuality
5. Bounce the ball
This is sequence is IMPORTANT. You have to roll armor and eventually remove ko or casuality before bouncing... because the ball can bounce on you, you can fail the catch, and bounce again the the defender square. If the defender is KO or Injuried, the ball wil rest... but if the defender is simply prone or stunned the ball will bounce once more

Please note that the BBRC do not agree on the sequence of 4 & 5 on that list. So until we agree and then clarify it play which ever way your league prefers.
EDIT - Saw the comment in the other thread after posting this. We will discuss whether we need to clarify since someone always played the other way!
<surprise! we are all human, no really, even Jervis>

Page 7 of the LRB 5.0 state it very clearianwilliams wrote:Please note that the BBRC do not agree on the sequence of 4 & 5 on that list. So until we agree and then clarify it play which ever way your league prefers.
"Make armour and injury rolls for players that were knocked down, and if the ball was dropped then roll to see where it bounces too normally"
Now, if you roll for bounch before armor/injury, you're not playing following the LRB 5.0
Nothing wrong with it, but it's important that all the league member know before starting that your league is using an house rule

And the description of the injuries clearly state that the players are removed:
8-9 KO’d – Take the player off the pitch and place them in the Dugout in the KO’d Players box.
10-12 Casualty – Take the player off the pitch and place them in the Dugout in the Dead & Injured Players box.
So in order to properly finish "roll for injury" you also have to take the players off the pitch on KO and CAS.
So I don't see how Galak can think otherwise
