Ball and Chain: turning throw-in template

Ball and Chain: turning throw-in template

So the text says that you "repeat this process until the player runs out of movement."

My question is whether you can change the direction you are moving in the middle of movement. For example can you move towards an end zone 2 squares then turn towards the side line for the last movement? Or must you make all your movement in one direction?
I can understand both interpretations.
It was played with the latter interpretation, but I was kinda thinking the wording made it sound more like the former.

Please advise, and direct me to any official rulings or FAQs as I couldn't find any. I hope my search fu was not lacking, but I did try.

Yes, you can turn.
"the process" refers to everything including laying down the template - not just the roll.
