Mummy Skills?
Hey all, this is my first post and I have a quick question. I got into bloodbowl a few weeks ago and played my first game with khemri last night against a skaven team... It wasn't pretty and my only player who got a single SPP was my tomb guardian who had a single casualty and got MVP as a result.
So... what should I give him? I was playing with the suggested errata for khemri, but after the horrible beating that I got from a skaven team (3-0 after bad catches on my oponents part and him being nice to me at the end...) I talked to me friends and I'm switching back to the LRB5 khemri.
My question is what should I get for my mummy? He already has MB, so I'm thinking about taking guard... or maybe stand firm or multiple block since I rolled a seven, so I only have strength skills to choose from. Thanks for the input!

Multiblock is not that good unless you already have at least Block, or Strength Six.
Guard & Stand Firm are both useful. Guard is going to be more useful as you have no other skilled players so you can flank the Mummy and get 2 dice blocks with other players.

Break Tackle, guard or stand firm are the best choices IMO. Break tackle makes him mobile - which can scare people. Guard is good since it makes it harder to break through the surrounding team mates - making it harder to gang up on the mummy. Stand Firm makes him more likely to stay next to opponents so he can hit them next turn.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to go with Guard first, so that he gives better assists, with Stand firm and grab following. I'll throw block in there if I roll doubles *crosses fingers*. If I can get even two skills on my four mummies then I'll have a hell of a line for opposing teams to try and get through! Cheers!

ashern, I suggest after guard you should take break tackle.
Guard will give others in your team a great playmate. once you blocked someone away from the mummy he will simply blitz or move up to where the ball/cage is.
Guard/Break tackle is just great for getting in that cage, and being usefull.
ofcourse against units like skaven, whom will gladly hold your advancement with a linerat, you will be able to dodge away (if you feel you have to) or even past the linerat.
No use stopping you with AG5 (read ST5 with break tackle)
good luck

I agree with Break Tackle after (or before) Guard. But keep in mind that Break Tackle can only be used once per team turn. So I wouldn't try to dodge through some rats. It's not necessarily what you were suggesting, but I wanted to point it out anyways.sirsebstar wrote:ofcourse against units like skaven, whom will gladly hold your advancement with a linerat, you will be able to dodge away (if you feel you have to) or even past the linerat.

Me, I'd much rather start with the accelerator and have to earn the toolbox than start with the toolbox and have to earn the accelerator. MB is way better than BT as a first skill, and if this Mummy had had BT instead of MB, then nobody'd be talking about Grab or Stand Firm. There'd be a MB camp and a Guard camp, and that's it (this coming from a guy who loves him some Grab and Stand Firm...).plasmoid wrote:Kind of funny that the original poster disliked the new Break Tackle roster.
Then, when asking what to take for his mummies, the most popular choice is break tackle
Just saying
Cheers

On a 0-4 Mummy with MB, I would prioritize toolbox skills the first time (more blocks matters, but 2d is easy), going for BT or Grab with my #1 selection, Guard with #2 and 3 and, the other (BT or Grab) on #4. Stand Firm is second on all, save BT boy, who goes for Juggernaut. I'd be tempted to pick Grab over BT: more blocks, more SPP, more utility vs. cage teams.
