Dump-Off is it a "Pass" action?

Post by zephard »

Ok, you have actions which are Pass, Hand-off, Block, Move.
Is Dump-off a "Pass" action, I was thinking one can only do actions on your own turn.

If so, then Dump-off is not a "Pass" action.

This comes up as my DE Runner just had "Gloves of Holding" played on him by my opponent.

No, Dump-off is a reactionary skill. It doesn't count as a Pass. Plus, it doesn't occur in your turn, so in actual fact, it doesn't count towards your actions.

I think there was a clarification a while back which said you can only play cards like "gloves of holding" on your own players - Galak said.

He said he did not feel it was good to play them on your opponent, and that he would bring it up to the board, but as of right now it is not offical rule you can't play it on your opponent, as I just read that one on the MBBL.

Since the game is happening now, I was going to allow it, but being rule lawyerish I was thinking that it did not stop Dump-offs.

Yes Dump Off can earn SPPs.

Thanks for reminding me about the playing cards on opponents for Magic Items.

My opponent was good enough to say he would not play it on me, but he could not get the tool to let him have another card. So it was a wasted card for he did not want to play it on any of his own players.

Tom/Galak the question still is in the air, should I be able to use Dump off even if I had played Gloves of Holding on myself?

Sooo, you can make a Quick Pass that is not a pass, but uses the passing rules and even can earn you spp?

Dump-off

Post by Mr_lemon »

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I'm a bit daft at the moment and just needs to ask something about Dump-off. In the skill description (LRB 5) it says: "This skill allows the player to make a Quick Pass when an opponent declares that he will throw a block at him..."

My question is, can my opponent use it if I declare a blitz on him. I know I've read several discussions about blitz and blocks and I've made a mess out of it in my head atm. And IF he can use it against a blitz when will he throw the ball, before I move?

you can use it against the blitz. And he will throw after you have declared the block but haven't rolled the dice.

1. So declare Blitz and move your guy up to his
2. declare block
3. he throws ball (don't forget tackle zones), resolve throw/bounce/catch
4. resolve block (pushbacks/follow ups, armor rolls)
5. continue the move of your guy

Okay, so if the thrower doesn't have NoS he will always be standing in a tacklezone when dumping off. But I can intercept a dump-off just as any other passes, right?
