For the figs...

Post by SomeGuy »

I'm using my GWAR miniatures. They're a little hard to find nowadyas, but they fit the theme well. Band members for Nurgle Warriors, GWAR slaves with helmets for Pestigors, and regular GWAR slaves (painted in more sickly flesh tones) as Rotters. Oh, and a scratch-built Gor-Gor for the Beast of Nurgle. I had originally wanted to use the different slave models as Pestigors, and zombies in street clothes (dead GWAR fans) as the Rotters, but I couldn't find any easily available zombies that fit my criteria and looked halfway decent. (Not that the GWAR figs were all that great to begin with.)

I'll probably put up pictures once they're all painted. I'm limiting myself to an hour a fig for painting, so they won't take forever. Also, because my Skaven team got so chipped up and scratched (nicely paralleling how beat up they got) over the course of last season, that I don't want to put much into painting figures that are going to get ruined quickly.

Hmm. never heard of them.

Not very known outside US are they?

But the figs might fit.

Considering they are a US band I'd say they are as well known there as anywhere else. They just happen to be somewhat more underground then mainstream tastes, and thus don't get alot of press.

And GWAR figures should look cool. Any pictures?

Probably not, as they were banned in half of Europe at one time or another. Ironic, given Lordi's success over there, basically using (stealing) the same concept.

The miniatures are... okay. The slaves are middling to terrible, but some of the band members are pretty decently sculpted. At least, by 1999 standards, when they came out.

On the other hand... it's freakin' GWAR minis! When I get 'em all painted up, I'll put a picture in the minis section. I've got eight of the slaves done, as well as Balsac the Jaws of Death, and Beefcake the Mighty. Gor-Gor is about half sculpted, and the other four slaves and two band members are cleaned and primed.

Anyway. Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread. On to more Nurgle tactics!

I saw them in Manchester three yrs ago I think.

My girlfriend at the time got elbowed in the pit and thought she'd broken her nose.
I didn't have the heart to tell her it had always looked like that...
