I agree to that development. As many passive skills as possible on a Troll on an Orc team. Get him in the middle of the scrum, and he just stays there, providing assists for your blitzers and BoBs. I would not go with Break Tackle or any other skill that depends on dice rolls.

On a Goblin team though ...

Dodge would have been worthwhile but only for combination with break tackle. Block will be useful right away :)

If you're primarily worried about Elves, Skaven or other teams that set up ST3 lines, Multiple Block is a blast. It's like having 12 men on the field on offense, and on defense it forces your oppo to game around it. It's still a selection for after you have taken Guard, though, and even then only if your BOBs have seen some lucky development (like if you have four skills between them for Block ends and Stand Firm on either ends or linebackers).

No. It cannot. Trolls only get General skills on a double, just like dodge. (Frankly surprised that nobody else picked up on that one!)

Block is the only choice here.

I have had success with a Troll taking Diving Tackle... But I would recommend Block. Guard, Stand Firm, and Piling On are my favorite normal skills... but if I was lucky enough to roll block on my first roll, it would be:

Block, then Multiple Block, then Guard, then Stand Firm.

The Orc team greatly benefits from guard on the troll, but I would want to start Multiple Blocking ASAP!

Totally depends on BOB development. If you have two BOBs with Guard (especially if one has Block or Stand Firm) and you're meaningfully more concerned with speed than with bash among opposing teams, you should perhaps consider going for a defensive-end skill or offensive skill, like Multiple Block, Stand Firm or Grab. If your BOBs got nothin', or if you've been giving them Block, then you might be best off going for Guard next. This is also true if your opposition tends to focus around battering-ram teams, as you will start feeling pressure to keep up at some point, and the injuries will begin to mount if you go too long without enough Guard.

If you're building for fun, take MultiBlock, then Grab at 31, and it'll be fun. If you're looking for a guy who can play different positions, Stand Firm is often an ersatz Guard for an end, plus it's good for linebackers and minimizes the impact of Really Stupid, as he can't be blocked off his allies.
