PassBlock + Dump Off

Post by darwinn69 »

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and didn't see anything.

Does "Dump Off" trigger a move, and possible interception, from a "Pass Block"?

If so, then I have some additional questions.
1. If the pass block player has already moved, can they then move to catch the ball?

2. If the pass block player has not moved, does the Pass Block move count towards their movement this turn? I ask because it mentions the following turn, but it seems a bit unclear about moves made this turn.

3. If the player I'm blitzing with has pass block, can he move to intercept?
3a. Does he still throw his block against the ball carrier?
3b. If not, can he move back in and throw a block against the ball carrier?
3c. Or could he even get to pick a different target to blitz?

Another question, would a handoff trigger a pass block?

1)Yes. Pass Block is not a Move Action, and has no effect on regular movement.

2) No. See 1

3) No, thus 3 a,b,c are irrelevant
From the faq at the end of the LRB5
If you blitz or block an opponent with Dump-Off with a player that has Pass Block can you use Pass Block to move after he declares his use of Dump-Off?
No, once a block is declared as part of a Block or Blitz Action, you must attempt to complete it before moving again.

4) No. A hand-off is not a 0 square pass, pass block will not be triggered.

And I sincerely hope pass block is rewritten to state Pass Action rather than just pass.
