LRB6 - release date?

Hi Rules Committee personages!

It's that time of the year again when the Blood Bowl rules shed pages faster than a treemans leaves, and coaches shiver with anticipation / dread to see what rules havoc is about to unfold!

We at BRBBA are ready for a new league, but want to wait for LRB6 before we start. How much longer will it be before the arrival of your latest rules 'lovechild'?

I'm not expecting an exact deadline, but a general idea would be grand please, so I can copy them off the Specialist Games Website as soon as.

Pretty sure there is no new LRB this year. And for my part that's just as good. Still getting used to the rules of LRB 5.

Plenty of threads. They discuss and put new rules out as experimental this year and next year make the game that much worse/better.

Oct 2008 at the earliest - if there's seen to be no big reason to change, it could be put off till Oct 2009 (etc.).

AFAIK, the BBRC are meeting this october, to discus final playtest list for LRB6.
LRB should be out november 09.

We are currently discussing experimental rules which will be published towards the end of this year - basically once we are done.

The current plan is that next year we will discuss making those experimental rules (and those only) official or not. So if it all goes as planned LRB6 will be out around Dec '09

What are the odds of Slann getting "official status" for LRB 6? It occurs to me that if they are not added in to the official playtest rules, they have no chance of making it into LRB 6, and indeed, into BB at all in the near future.

They've got official status now, they're just not in the LRB until there's models made for them, which is out of the BBRC's hands.

They are not in any rules reviews, but published as a separate document, correct? That really adds to the confusion...

But yeah, I'm wondering if there is any movement on either the "No Models, No Team" stance or the "No New Models" stance.

By the way, I agree the BBRC doesn't have control over this, but they MAY have some insight into how likely it is to come to pass.

Slann are not official

Slann are "endorsed" by the BBRC. I'm not really sure what that means except that we would make them official if GW would let us. If GW would let us make them official then they would be experimental until LRB6 anyway.

As for the original question, would Slann be made official in LRB6. Well it looks very unlikely. However that is 18 months away, and GW may have a change of heart.

Just to clarify, before people start slagging off JJ, it isn't his decision either. He's endorsed them too. Its a corporate thing.

That's not what Galak has been saying. The impression he's been giving, both here and on other BB forums, is that Slann, Underworld and Pact are all "official", but due to GW policy, the slann cannot be put in the LRB until there are models for them, and the BBRC decided to put all 3 teams together to put more weight behind them.

If they're not official, but still experimental, then you and Galak need to have a talk, and start singing from the same hymn sheet.

It would be very nice to know, what is now an official and what is still an experimental rule?

We have clarifications "considered immediate official interpretations of existing unclear wordings in the rules", then there are the changes to Khemri, Necromantic and Undead (LRB 6.0 ?)and the 3 new teams Underworld, Slann and Chaos Pact (official yet or not).

As there are already NAF tournaments running, allowing the three new teams, how official are they now?

I just want to get sure, because we are hosting a tournament next week and in upcoming future and we thought the changes and the 3 new teams are not offical, until the release of LRB 6.0.

Any ideas?
