New skill - Perfect Spiral

Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Was discussing this with the Geggster last night. Perhaps natural or modified 6. That way it scales with quick passes, accurate and strong arm. Makes it useful for those backfield passes off the kickoff as well as becoming a useful 2nd thrower skill for AG3 throwers who already have Sure Hands and Pass.

I'd certainly look at pairing it with either a dump-off thrower or an accurate thrower.

This mechanic would be too fiddly. Nobody (at least I don't) counts what the actual result of the roll is, only whether they pass or not. This would be the only roll where that would be required, and as such, it would add a new aspect to the game making it more complicated.

"passing on a 4+, perfect spiral on a 6"
"quick pass to #3, 3+ pass, perfect spiral on a 5+"
"quick pass to #3, I have a accurate so that's 2+, perfect spiral on a 4+"

I don't consider that complicated at all.

The aim for 6 mechanic is a really interesting one. I'm going to steal that mechanic, thanks.

It's analogous with the critical hit mechanic in a number of other games so, to my mind at least, it's fairly intuitive.

Actually I didn't consider the innate +1 for passing. That would make:

Long pass spirals on 6
Short pass spirals on 5+
Quick pass spirals on 4+

+1 to those numbers if you have accurate.
Ranges obviously also scale with Strong Arm.

No inherent advantage to AG4 teams but slots nicely into an AG3 throwing repertoire, and encourages development of a dedicated thrower due to scaling.

I can live with those numbers

There is no +1 for passing. Short passes are unmodifed AG and quick passes at +1 - so quick pass would be a 5+. With strong arm & accurate it would be 4,4,5,6 which is pretty powerful IMO, and would work I guess as a skill in its own right.
