First Skill Double for Ogre on and Orc Team
I rolled a double for my first skill with an Ogre and was wondering what some others thought of which direction to go. I already have a leader on my team. Was leaning towards just taking Block because it is so necessary but was thinking maybe Dodge (just the thought of an Ogre with Blodge is cool)
Thanks for the input

get pass if on an orc team, then he can throw goblins about
dodge has its uses but i think stand firm would be more useful
depends really on the role you want him to play in the team, some people i know have given their ogre frenzy, which is a pain to play against at times, but without block can be a risk

pass or frenzy
I had thought of Pass but I'm looking at the ogre being more in the LOS then for him to chuck Gobbo's (although this is a fun thing to do) I had also thought of Frenzy but I think it is a bit of a risk without block (although with two chances to knock a player down and mighty blow i might get to that second skill allitle faster) I am just having a hard time thinking about not taking block with the first increase ...shrug....

I would take Pass for my Ogre I won like three games in a row with my Goblin team because I rolled doubles. Can you really beat One Turn TD's I know I like feel of scoreing a OTTD. It is a great feeling and the look on your opponet's face is great. I say go for the skill Pass and throw the goblins threw the air. Have the play The Great Goblin Pass in your in your play book.

I was considering Stand Firm and Dodge (good with Break Tackle) with my Ogre when I rolled a double but I really needed a reliable blocker so I had to waste my roll and go with Block
It has paid off though, especially as I play against a lot of other Big Guys and a Lizardman team.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

I warmly recommend dodge. Why?
Dauntless guys or big guys usually don't have tackle - they have more important things to acquire first, so at least you shouldn't meet too many tacklers (Your Leagues' Average Skill Choices May Vary - YLASCMV). This results with the Ogre standing a lot more often. It's handy also for the crucial dodge needed to blitz etc.
Granted, block is essential, but I'd hold on and wait for the second skill before taking block, just to be able to use the doubles roll.
