Cheers for the responses.
Nobody has made any convincing argument to stop taking the MA, so that's what I'll do. He'll be another useful addition to my fairly unconventional team. Next skill will probably be tackle as there's now a lizardman team in the league and those skinks are crying out to be hit.
Unless there are other doubles or stat increases my blitzers' progressions are pretty much sort. I reckon at the rate we are arranging matches they'll get another increase or two before I try out another team. Now if I could only get the BOBs to actually cause casualties or win MVPs...

Just to hammer the nail into the coffin:
Take +MA!
And yes, Tackle is an excellent second skill for him.
Also, if your Black Orcs aren't getting SPP's try running them with the ball. They have a 75% of catching a handoff if you use a reroll, and then your opponant will have hell trying to get it back off him. Mind you, it'll be a long grind to that touchline...

I've played at least a few hundred games with Orcs, and won over 85% of them. Yet somehow I've never once had a score with a Black Orc.
Weird. I had my second-ever interception earlier this year after ten or eleven years of playing BB. I think odd stats just don't factor into my play style.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

If you already had 2 dodgers I'd use exactly the same argument in reverse. Most teams have a couple of tackle. So you need lots of dodge to prevent them easily negating your dodge.

It's all local Darkson. Some leagues just don't get tackle guys... Maybe they historically haven't had a lot of elf and Amazons? When I first joined the OBBL, teams would often have only 1 or 0 tackle players, despite their being a Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Dominant High Elf team, and 2 Undead teams.Darkson wrote:QFTianwilliams wrote:If you don't want it I think sidestep is a better choice than dodge because he would be the only dodge on the team - so just attract your opponent's tacklers. By the very end of the league teams stepped it up for the playoffs and picked up some tackle, but for most of the season Dodge was an awesome skill to have.

Haven't played any games since choosing the movement, but I'm convinced it'll be the right choice. There isn't a lot of tackle in the league at the moment. In fact, I think it's only to be found in the dwarf team so far. But I'll be suggesting other players take it soon (our small league is basically 2 experienced players and 4 new to the game, so we are trying to get across the importance of key skills such as block, guard, dodge and tackle to them) as the wood elf, human and lizardman team, i.e. half the teams in the league, have dodge in their line ups. I know that I'll be taking it on this blitzer and my lineorc if he ever skills up.
As for those BOBs, it's a bit cocky, but I think there will be games in the future when I'll be able to afford trying to score with them, unless the newbies pay a lot of attention to the tricks I pull against them
Fingers-crossed for some Blood Bowl next weekend...
