Fend vs Piling On

Hello,

I did a couple searches but I couldn't find the answer to this. Does Fend prevent someone from using Piling On on the Fend'ing player?

Yes - if the attacker is no longer adjacent, then he can't pile on.
(Find doesn't stop the attacker from using piling on if he had block and rolled "both down")

The above answer is correct.

Fend protects from Piling On in so far as it prevents the Piling On player from being adjacent to the downed player (you have to be standing next to the downed player in order to use Piling On).

Note, however, that if the Piling On player also has Grab, he can potentially use Piling On against the player with Fend (provided he can push the downed player into a square that is adjacent to the Piling On player's starting square).

Please also note that Fend is a very good defence against Frenzy (Frenzied players cannot take Grab). I think the only circumstance in which Fend fails afiant Frenzy is if the Frenzied player is able to push the defender into one of his own players with Stand Firm.

Cool thanks for the information. Too many people in our TT league are getting Piling On and I need something to protect my Witch Elves. I got Side Step already to counter the Grab and am now getting Fend next to counter the Piling-On.
