Did you upload your avatar the forum itself or to an image host like Photobucket? The latter is the only way I was able to get mine to work.

Linking offsite works now. Even that wasn't working before. Maybe it was a glitch.

Or Snew error.

It seems to depend where you link offsite too. Most personal sites have some form of hotlinking protection, so your own web hosting space (if you have some) will generally not work. Hence the appeal of all the image hosts I guess.

For some reason (and I don't understand what, so I'm not even going to hazard a guess) the whole avatar thing on TBB seems to be very tempermental atm.

Some people seem to have no problem with avatars, changing them all the time.

Some can get it changed once, and then get problems (MEEEEEE!)

Some can't get it to change, or add, one at all.

This might be a little late....

I can't seem to get my profile to save my avatar. (a photo on my machine)

Every time I log on, the Avatar spot is blank.

Thoughts?

Its showing a missing picture rather than no picture at all. I'd assume you've linked it from a site which dosent want this forum to display it.

prob reviving this topic, but I tried imageshack, photobucket, changed my gif to a jpg. Nothing lets me load an avatar on this site, even though i get it in other sites.
Anybody capable of helping me?

Avatars cannot be uploaded to this forum. So if you want an avatar, you'll have copy the URL of the avatar from the website where you found it and paste that in the profile.
Otherwise pm me where the picture is and I'll try and make it work for you.
Note that a picture should not be too large!
