Love the idea that there is a high chance of you not being blockable in that square, so really filling the hole just like you wanted.
Most people use standfirm for this ;)

But maybe you can't reach that hole without Leaping

Why do you need to reach the hole? Against Agility teams, the problem is usually one of space: Leap helps a little, but only at great risk, and elves and rats can still play keep-away on MA edge and passing confidence alone. Against cages, your goal is to hold firm and apply pressure until the cage cracks. Leap might have application to this effect, but I find it hard to believe that the application would translate to a net benefit. Stand Firm, however, has application that translates directly to benefit, as it never ends your turn and only very rarely nets an armor roll against you, while preventing your opponents from blocking their way to forward progress. On offense, it may get you through some sticky spots late in a drive, but by that point it's often near the end of the half and you might not have a TRR. Remember also that Leap often gets you where you want to go but you still have to dodge. Even with a TRR, you have only an 11/18 chance (a little over 61%) to make a 4+ and a 3+. At least he's AV9, so you can kind of try it at end of turn if it's really important: get that butt-armor a work-out and let the laundry staff worry about the grass stains. 'Course, he is one of only four AG3 players, so he is kind of a foul-magnet....

Of course, if you're just doing it for fun, more power to you. Just don't get caught thinking it's smart to go leaping about a lot, and you've got a cute little trick that will occasionally have some vaguely justifiable application and might sometimes even work. Maybe you should Get Pass Block next. I'd suggest Shadowing... but he's MA5. (I'm joking: take Guard or Pro; if you get Guard, get Stand Firm for #3, and you'll have an obnoxious player, well at least half the time).

IF dwarves had 0-4 blitzers, I don't think the move would be that crazy.

But as it stands, I'm just not sure it's ever wise to develop one of your few mobile players that way. granted, it does give you a desperation option and it will be fun/memorable... but the first game where you Badly hurt yourself leaping against Skaven you may re-think the situation!

Here is the team, Jolly Goodfellas (4 RR, 10 FF, TV231)

Slayer* 5 4 2 8 Mighty Blow, Piling On, Juggernaut, Tackle (This player is a great casualtymachine, 47 cas in 55 games)
Slayer 5 3 2 8 Mighty Blow, Tackle

Blitzer 5 3 3 9 Leap (Da Grasshoppa!)
Blitzer* 6 3 4 9 Guard, Sure Hands, Tackle (Use him as a second Runner)

Runner 6 4 4 8 Block, Nerves of Steel, Side Step (Probably one of my lifetime best player ever. Damn Nerves of Steel! He was a catcher before ST4)

Blocker* 3 3 2 7 Guard, Side Step, Fend (He will soon be dead or retired! He is to fun to retire yet  )
Blocker* 4 3 2 8 Guard, Stand Firm, Grab
Blocker 4 3 2 9 (going for frenzy as first skill  )
Blocker* 3 4 2 9 Guard, Side Step
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Guard, Diving Tackle (Niggling)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Wrestle, Side Step, Diving Tackle (One of my best Tacklers!)
Blocker 4 3 3 9 Dirty Player (I got AG3 and I hoped to get a MA increase so I could use him as a 3rd blitzer or a double for Sure Feet)

The team has played 56 games (29 Win / 9 Tie / 18 Loss) and only 5 players are in from the start (most of the best and injured ones *)

Its a fun team for being a dwarf team. I don't pick Mighty Blow becuse then it will be to devastating and we have a chaos team with mega lots of MB and Claw (and thats a hated team, and we have to play it under the season  )

Well I know that if I would have picked Side Step the blitzer would be a really good one, or Diving Tackle or Jump-Up, but I wan't something FRESH and EXCITING :D

Here is the team, Jolly Goodfellas (3 RR, 11 FF, TV192, 160K cash)

Slayer 5 4 2 8 Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Block, Mighty Blow, Piling On, Juggernaut, Tackle
Slayer 5 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle (23 spp, 130K *1)

Blitzer 6 3 4 9 Thick Skull, Block, MA, Guard, Sure Hands, Tackle

Runner 6 3 3 8 Thick Skull, Sure Hands

Blocker 4 3 3 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, AG, Dirty Player (23 spp, 130K *2)
Blocker 4 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Stand Firm, Grab (43 spp, 130K *3)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 3 4 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Side Step, Mighty Blow
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 [Niggling] Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Diving Tackle
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle

This is the team after a hard season where I ended up as a Bronze winner (third place). I'm going down in TV for next season, planning to have 179 TV (our Major Division, 140-179 TV) and wich one of the 130K players shall I kick/fire?

1. Slayer (can easily get 6 spps on a new one and just pick Mighty Blow again)

2. Blocker (AG3 and Dirty Player makes him a tricky one. Maybe get rid og him, but it will not be easy to get two new skills. If I keep him, Guard is next)

3. Blocker ("only" AV8, but Stand Firm, Grab and Guard gives me potential gameplays. He has played 59 games, and maybe it's time to "put the shoes on the shelf". Next skill will probably be Guard, but it will be easier to get 6 spps on a new Guard guy)

Okey gentlemen and ladies! Wich one to sack from these three players, or maybe someone else, but I need to go down 130K in TV.

For you to know, my LEAP blitzer got sacked, he didn't even have the chance to use the skill, and Guard is needed!!!

OK, who killed the superstar runner? Fire the AG3 blocker, I would. It's not much use with move 4 anyway, and AV8 makes him a target.

He got blocked on a blitz from a claw/mighty blow beastman! He did die on the dice, I was so chocked that I spilt beer on my shirt and called out! The apo!!!

And then the roll was -ST so I just let him die! Too much with 240TV just on one player!!!! (50K to expensive)

I'd can the AG3 guy... but you need a Runner!

i'd can the AG dirty player.
AG on a MA4 player is just no good and with dirty player is just a waste of space.
You might consider canning the AV8 guy, even though he is good. This would give you room to buy the second blitzer and even a runner. This will keep you with 13 players, but also under the mark.

With an AG4 blitzer youa re pretty safe, and your trollslayers will just rack up cas without gaining much more in cost.

all my thoughts though.

I'm convinced!!!

The AG3 Dirty Player just got fired!!!

Here is the team now, Jolly Goodfellas (3 RR, 11 FF, TV179, 160K cash)

Slayer 5 4 2 8 Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Block, Mighty Blow, Piling On, Juggernaut, Tackle
Slayer 5 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle

Blitzer 6 3 4 9 Thick Skull, Block, MA, Guard, Sure Hands, Tackle

Runner 6 3 3 8 Thick Skull, Sure Hands

Blocker 4 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Stand Firm, Grab
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 3 4 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Side Step, Mighty Blow
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 [Niggling] Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Diving Tackle
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle

It's a good team at it's low TV and after first game I will get a runner and maybe also a blitzer (or a reroll). Hope to get to the finals next season. The ST4 blocker will miss first game due to MNG in the last match so my TV will be down to 160, and thats really nice, maybe getting some inducements in the first round.

buy that runner and blitzer, but dont buy that reroll. You are better off buying inducements. Just get Leader on a thrower. Saves 30K just there.

3 re-rolls is fine for all but the riskiest of dwarf coaches. But you need all your positionals, IMHO. In other words, I second everyone else.

I'm was convinced but I played more games between seasons and my ST4 Slayer got killed!!!

The AG3 Dirty Player didn’t even got sacked, so he is still on the team!!! :D

Here is the team now, Jolly Goodfellas (5 RR, 11 FF, TV178, 100K cash)

Slayer 5 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle

Blitzer 6 3 4 9 Thick Skull, Block, Guard, Sure Hands, Tackle
Blitzer 5 3 3 9 Thick Skull, Block

Runner 6 3 3 8 Thick Skull, Sure Hands; Block

Blocker 4 3 3 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Dirty Player
Blocker 4 3 2 8 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Stand Firm, Grab
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Stand Firm
Blocker 3 4 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard, Side Step, Mighty Blow
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 [Niggling] Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle, Guard
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Thick Skull, Block, Tackle

I think this looks solid and I have hade some bad luck with my dead dwarf stars, first my ST4, AG4 Runner and now my 140+ spp Slayer. But the good thing is that the team got lowered TV. Maybe I bougth one reroll to many, but it’s only 40K extra in TV.
