Very first team layout...Lizardmen
Hey guys,
I'm new, both here and to bloodbowl in general. I've had a lizardmen team lying around for quite some time, and now that there is a league at our local gaming club (mostly also starting noobs, some veterans here and there), I decided to bring em out and go for it.
So, prepare for the noobness...
6 x basic skink
4 x basic sauri
1 x basic kroxigor
1 FF
1 reroll (I know its puny, but I didn't have any more credits)
So, any tips, tricks and other help are much appreciated. Got a game comming up tomorrow night agaist halflings, played by just as big a noob as I am...

You'll need more rerolls. Either drop the krox and use the money saved to buy another skink and a reroll, or if you definitely want the krox, drop some saurus for skinks/rerolls.
But 1 reroll is NOT enough for a lizzie team, even in one-off games, certainly not for a league. You have no blocking or ball handling skills, and will need the rerolls.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Start with:
5 Saurus
6 Skinks
3 rerolls
Leaves 60K for either another skink (my choice), another reroll or FF/AC/CL.

Ehrm... I forgot to mention.. I allready put in my list, so I'm going to have to start the league with this setup... I know, gonna get a beating from here to Hawaii, but it will be some good learning.
The actual question: I'm facing halflings tomorrow, from another very inexperienced player. I know he's got a treeman, and for the rest just little buggers... Any tips on how to tackle the hairy-footed little munchers?

My friend started our league without a Kroxigor but picked him up later. He said he would never start w/o the Krox again as his 5 Saurus were not enough to hold the line or a cage, and the Krox attracted other team's big guys.
I would say its going to be rough the first couple of games with only 1RR, and the first skill on a skink should be Sure Hands.

I had never played Lizardmen until I chose them in this year's league. I began with 6 sauruses, 5 skinks and 3 RR. If I could start all over again, I would definitely go with 6 sauruses, 4 skinks, 2 RR and a Kroxygor. I think he is vital to the team (both against bashers and finesse teams). The first few games will be rough, but once you get Block on your Sauruses, things should improve.

You don't have to worry about halflings whatsoever. One of the worst teams in BB, the worst I'd say even. the treeman will take root and just stay there for the rest of the drive, you just beat the hell out of the small guys and keep the ball on the endzone line and score turn 8. they wont be able to do a thing against you. let me just put it this way for you, your friend will never play halfling again after that

Yeah. Halflings are there for three kinds of people:
1) Newbies who want an excuse to justify their losing;
2) Top coaches who like to win with one hand behind their backs;
3) Halfling-nuts who would rather play Halflings than win games.
To be fair, Lizards are only a little better right out the gate, but after three or four games (especially against Halflings), you'll start to accelerate. Vs. Halflings, go after the little guys and leave the trees alone. A Saurus with an assist gets 3d on a halfling, and that's very important. Likewise, a Tree won't be able to get 3d on a Saurus, and that matters too.
If you're building for a league, you might want a Krox, assuming you're opening against Halflings. Don't put him on the line, but rather use him as a sweeper and try to earn SPP on Halflings via Mighty Blow (you only need an 8 to BH).

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

well - he can with 3 assistsmattgslater wrote:a Tree won't be able to get 3d on a Saurus, and that matters too.

Smurf - If you get a Krox - he will be very powerfull against the little buggers. He block them almost all the time with 3 dices, while they only get away on a 4+ (Preh. Tail). So tackle as many flings as you can with the krox, an get out of the way of the tree(s ?) till rooting. By Choosing your amount of RR - dont forget the Halfling Chief might steal some...

starting to play against halflings in a league is a dream for most coaches, dnt mess it up man, that was lucky cause if u went against an experienced player with top class team like orcs, skaven or woodies, oh dear.
