No, the anal interpreation would be not beeing allowed to change your mind even if you havent made any rolls yet.

In a pbem I would go "Wait, scratch that" if I declared an action but changed my mind. Dont see a problem with it, never had any opponent complain about it. They do it most of the time too. Not that it happens very often.

To be clear:
Once you rolled the dice, you are dedicated to whatever action youve declared.

I think I have a new signature...

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Why the hell not, the message is good, and if there goes sport in this thing, I'll be on the bandwagon from the start.

I agree with Galak. I don't want to be a voice for changing the rulebook, I'm only trying to point out why this issue may stick with us for many years.

If these are the sorts of problems we have with the rulebook now (i.e. it's 100% clear, but a skimming of the rules might not catch it) we are in good shape.

To chime in on declaring a pass action... we play a very uptight league (the coaches are cool, but the rules strictly enforced.) Typically, however, coaches will allow you to blitz if you haven't declared it (although a verbal warning is sometimes given.)

Pass actions we almost always allow, as the player who has the ball is clearly the only one who can declare this action.

Now of course a blitz can be declared by a different player based on re-roll usage, or something. And the player holding the ball could sub a hand-off for a pass along the same lines. But within even our fairly anal league, we allow lee-way on those two issues... lee-way, with a nudge to say "do it right next time, idiot."

I'm all for RTFM, but these days the web and forums are more n00b-friendly than they were back in my day. In my day, you'd be trying to install some piece of software, something didn't compile right, and you'd ask for help. The only help you were getting was RTFM, and you'd spend the next 12 hours scouring manpages until you figured it out. But then it worked, you knew the problem and the solution backwards and forwards, and the next time someone ELSE came along with the SAME problem would you give them the 10 seconds and 50 keystrokes to fix their problem? NO WAY? You'd tell that person to RTFM.

Then someone got offended and started spreading the nasty rumor that "F" stood for the F-word, and suddenly it became offensive and insensitive to say RTFM.

Read The Friendly Manpages

Thats all it meant, honest mom! Now stay out of the basement!

I remember getting one idiot to go out looking for the "French Manual". That was better than sending someone for a length of shore line.

For the record I'd prefer either Galak 12:18 or Galak 18:12, but I'm not pushy and could live with Galak 3:16.
