Another good thing with scoring often is to get another shot at getting your KOs back.
But my advice is still, that to wait with the TD as long as you can without risking it. Beeing down 1td will pressure him enough that it will affect his gameplan for second half. Ive found that teams that try to stall a whole half pretty often dont manage that score at the end. He will have to move quicker, and you wont have to try desperat balltretrieving attempts and give him easy hits. All you have to do is stall him enough so that he will open himself up when he tries something desperate to make that TD. And you have the last turn of the game, so aslong as you have some player within scoring reach, a 2-0 victory seems aslikely as a 1-1 tie. And with minimal hurt to your team.

This may be true for your league but it is not a universal phenomena.mattgslater wrote: Against many bash teams, you can generate about a 50/50 shot at a 2-4 turn turnover score.

Could end-up that way. We rolled for random players and random mutations. And TV was increased by 30k or 40k (can't remember) for each mutation.oryxwild wrote:so you're saying, only win the chaos cup with your team if you want to retire them soon after? XD
I got 2 rolls, and rolled Hypno Gaze on a line and a blitzer. Just plain luck.
The runner-up got one roll, and he got Hypno Gaze on a Flesh Golem. So that was a 30/40k TV increase for no value.

I think he was saying that his team got so good that he felt he had to retire it. Surely that is even worse when using the real rules. While I like the fluffy mutations the possibility for high elves or dark elves to stack up 3 hypnogaze players is pretty scary.

Hypnogaze on a Flesh Golem? WTF? AG2!

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

With Hypno Gaze added in along with Regeneration, I'd probably pick Hypno gaze three times! It is simply ridiculous.
So the question is, if you can pick three players on your team to get mutations/hypno/regen, which three players and what to give them? Obviously some skills are good for linemen, some are good for your ballhandlers, etc... but what three skills (and where) are best for the Dark Elves?

You throw in Hypno, and its Hypno for the win. One, two of those, almost doesn't matter who gets it but if you have the choice perhaps you favor an AG5 player for it. I have an AG5/Blodge/Leap Blitzer who would love to have Hypno.
But I also think that having more than one of the same thing is boring. Shouldn't be allowed. No duplicates. So thats the 4th addendum (see above) to the Chaos Cup that I'd propose.
1. Random player, random bonus
2. Bonus comes with Loner, except on Mutation teams scratch this
3. Roll 2+ for affected player to stay on team, except on Mutation teams scratch this
4. No duplicate bonuses. Everyone who gets anything gets something different.
Can't pick Hypno more than once. Can't pick. And if you COULD pick, can't pick it if anyone else already got it.
So I'd be looking for Horns on a Juggy Witch next. After putting Hypno on an AG5 player, I'd want Horns with Jugs next.
Other ideas that would be cool to see:
Assassin w/ Tackle gets Prehensile Tail
Runner w/ NOS gets Big Hand
Runner w/ Dodge gets Two Heads
sidenote: both my current Runners have NOS & Dodge, first two skills
Blitzer w/ Pass Block gets Very Long Legs, followed by Leap
Witch w/ Mighty Blow gets Claw
Any player w/o NOS gets Extra Arms
Furthermore, if I was going to write a random effect table for the Chaos Cup I would be sure to include as possibilities the following Extraordinary traits:
Decay, Fan Favorite, Loner, No Hands, Nurgle's Rot, Really Stupid, Right Stuff, Wild Animal
That would take to a total of 20 the number of random "bonuses" that could be rolled: 10 Mutations, Stab, Regen, Hypno, and a few extras to round it out. Some of the extras are totally useless, some are negative, and some are positive. Nurgle's Rot and Right Stuff are pretty much irrelevant except on the correct teams, but hire Morg and Right Stuff becomes awesome to have on a Runner. Fan Favorite as a Chaos Cup bonus would be like getting the blessing of Slaanesh. The rest would just suck to roll, and double-sucky is the +30K Team Rating that comes with each one. Yeah, that would suck.
So basically what would happen in a perpetual league is you'd win the Chaos Cup knowing that you have good odds at immediately firing 1-3 of your best players and spending all of the next season rebuilding. Unless your team is the Chaos All-Stars.

I like the list, but No Hands and Right Stuff are out of place... I'd rather see No Hands removed and Throw Team mate replace it.AK_Dave wrote:...Furthermore, if I was going to write a random effect table for the Chaos Cup I would be sure to include as possibilities the following Extraordinary traits:

On it's own, Loner is also strange, I'd probably just find a way to do without. Replace it with Bonehead maybe?

You could make it a 2d6 roll to get an either/or result. Then you could put the situational stuff, the bad stuff and the really good stuff on the outlier results.
2: Really Stupid or Wild Animal
3: No Hands or Stunty
4: Tentacles or Disturbing Presence
5: Foul Appearance or Tentacles
6: Claw or Big Hand
7: Two Heads or Prehensile Tail
8: Horns or Extra Arm
9: Foul Appearance or Very Long Legs
10: Very Long Legs or Disturbing Presence
11: Hypnotic Gaze, Thick Skull or Regenerate
12: +1 MA or +1 AV

Well, it was a stretch to come up with 20 so that a d20 would work well. I remember the old Realms of Chaos mutation tables and how a lot of the stuff you could be blessed with was a huge hinderance. So then I was thinking of what would be cool, funny, or interesting to model.Jural wrote: I like the list, but No Hands and Right Stuff are out of place... On it's own, Loner is also strange, I'd probably just find a way to do without. Replace it with Bonehead maybe?
I envisioned a guy with porpoise flippers for arms for "No Hands". You'd probably fire the guy immediately, but on some teams maybe you'd keep him anyways if you don't really need him as a potential ballhandler.
I realize that everyone in the game with Right Stuff is small, but I didn't think it would be right to include Stunty or Twitchy as mutations. Though it would be funny. But Right Stuff? Okay, maybe a light bone structure and flying-squirrel membrane-wings. Or Tzeentch just says "Zot!". Or little stubby Buzz Lightyear wings: "Its not flying, its falling - with style!"
Loner is strange; mutations are strange. Loner as a mutation brings to mind the Pig Pen from Peanuts. He's not surrounded in a cloud of flies, doesn't exude disease when touched, but he's a dirty mess and nobody plays with him. I originally thought that everyone who gets a mutation should automatically get Loner, unless on a team where mutations are already possible (normal or double skill). So thats how Loner made my list. The guy isn't hideous or grotesque like Foul Appearance, but has lost all his friends thanks to Nurgle.
I just wanted the list to hit 20, so some of my thoughts are really stretching it.
