I like Matt's list. Plus, Blood Bowl doesn't need anything that depends on a d20.

The either-or could be coach's choice, which is more BB-ish, or random (more Mordheim-style). What the heck, give the coach a wee bit of choice in the matter?

But would anyone take No Hands over Stunty? Perhaps.
1. Its easier to model.
2. No Hands beats Stunty on a Mino.

On the other hand, Stunty on a Break Tackle Mummy is just wrong. Wrong, I tell you. Which is why it needs to stay on the list.

The either/or is so that something somewhere is always worth taking. Otherwise you run into too much variety: funny though they may be, it's not really interesting to field a Tentacled Halfling or VLL on a Saurus. But anyone can use Foul Appearance.

I like the idea that with random mutations on random players you can be stuck with something that is useless, or maybe even an outright detriment. But in Blood Bowl, you're not really stuck with anything. You might just need to fire the player. Or put him on the LOS against Khemri.

And none of that is very much fun. Especially since it happens as-is with the injury rules.

Hmmm... maybe no bad stuff. Or mitigate the bad stuff.

2: Hypnotic Gaze or a Mutation of choice
3: +1 AV or Stunty
4: Very Long Legs or Disturbing Presence
5: Foul Appearance or Prehensile Tail
6: Claw or Big Hand
7: Mutation of choice
8: Horns or Two Heads
9: Disturbing Presence or Extra Arm
10: Foul Appearance or Tentacles
11: +1 MA or Regenerate
12: Stab or a Mutation of choice

or

Not sure. That "Horns or Two Heads" dichotomy is mean to Stunties, as those are easily the best two Stunty mutations.

I like this idea. There are some great combinations of good+bad skills. These could be worth 20k instead of the normal 30k for a Chaos Cup skill.

Two Heads + Bonehead (arguing)
Hypnogaze + Really Stupid (hypnotize self unless slapped by a teammate)
Regeneration + Decay (atomic bonds weakening and reforming)
Claw + Wild Animal
Claw + No Hands
Stab + No Hands
Disturbing Presence + Loner
Foul Appearance + Loner
Tentacles + No Hands

This is a fine list. It looks like one 7of the starting points is that Hypno and Stab should be rare, while the simple mutations should be common. A '7' only allows a Mutation to be chosen, not "anything at all".

Minor tweak: I'd pair MA/Stunty and AV/Regen. My logic is that this leads to tougher choices because the selection is between two "agility" or two "bashy" upgrades instead of between "agility/bashy".

The problem is that +AV is almost categorically better than Regenerate.

Even then, it's just that it's so good it's illegal.

Great topic, as an all-time dark elf player this is invaluable!

There's a mistake in your one-turner though;

step 3: when the B2 blocks, the pushback you make is illegal, since there is an open space (underneath WE) So either you put your 11th player there (assuming you still have 11 players).

OR: you have the linie 2 make the block (2 dice, but no block...)

OR you switch places between 2 en B1 (and have the blitzer do the block, 2 die with block), but in that case the nr2 will have to dodge and GFI once in order to fill his space in step 4.

El hombre:

Thank you. THis have been pointed out once earlier, and I wrote down the solution. But Ive been to lazy to change it. But good catch anyways, good to know you guys are on your toes. .)

Btw, there are actually 2 illegal pushes in the graphics. :) They are both easily fixed, only it takes quite some work to fix the graphics. I will do it eventually though.

This is two totally cool threads. One of them belongs in "House Rules."
