YBBL2 Dwarfs

Post by darren woodward »

I've decided to give Dwarfs a, erm, bash for want of a better word, for season 2

1M with free FF5 start.

my starting roster is the usual 6 positionals, 5 Blockers and 3RR

2 official practice games so far (which gain SPPs/injuries carried forward) against non-league opponents and 2 wins. I beat up Evil Trev's Chaos last night :D

So far i have a Runner with Block and a Blocker with Guard. A Blitzer and a TS are off the mark too.

I'm in the Pro league so i'm expecting to face some season 1 veteran teams.

Will keep you posted. D

1st game last night and a 1 -0 win against Orcs.

The 2nd Runner now has Block too with SPPs scattered between a Blitzer, TS and another Blocker

Picked up an Apoth as i didn't have quite enough for the 12th Dwarf

Dark Elves next week. d

Thus there is a point in time when you shouldnt.

I'm still undecided as to whether to exchange KoR for Block on the 2nd Runner before my game tonight.

DEs tonight and then Skaven next week.

It's that or drop players pack when on offence and start the cage deeper in my own half.

The DE player has 4 Blitzers and 2 Runners (one has AG5) but no WEs

Block first.

Makes one of the more vulnerable (and valuable) DWarf players harder to hurt.
Useful for more of the game.
Just as good (I'd argue better) at helping you get the ball and keep it.

Well, as you seem to be listening, I'll keep going.

Dodge is not a skill I take on Dwarf sides.

I just don't feel you can get enough Dodge to make it worth having as all teams have Tackle and 1 or 2 players with Dodge are easy to target with them.

If you're looking to use the Double with a Runner, I'd suggest:

Side Step: Helpful to stay in a cage if blocked or ensure you're not pushed away from the endzone.

Sure Feet: GFIs can be used every turn and despite Runners being the fastest Dwarf players, they still need to GFI often. This makes it a whol lot safer throughout the game.

Or you might want to ignore the Double and take KOR anyway, it's a very good skill for Runners.

Hi, i'd probably go with S-S then as i don't think i'd pass up the double. I was thinking about Sprint but i can see the value of skills you'd use all game,

Cheers, d

Sure Feet is a double for Dwarves. It's an A skill.

we know :)

2 v 1 win tonight and 3 nil on casualties

I picked up the 12th dwarf with winnings and another Blocker has Guard

and Block helped a Runner survive a Both Down result on a 1D Blitz by the DE - he went on to score a turn or two later :D

playing an experienced Skaven team next week.

I'm 1.2 TV; expect he'll be around the 1.5 mark

can you suggest a starting defensive set up to deal with these nippy b*ggers

cheers

When you're playing an agile team with a bash side you need to bear in mind that a quick score for them is not a disaster.
It's the start of a 2-1 grinding win.

Just defend deep and try to bash the runners.
