A couple of games later (unfortunatly without wins: one loss 2-3 against a skaven team, and a tie 1-1 vs an Amazons), here I am with a few gold coins to spend on a new player and a new skill to give to my thrower.

[Note about the games: The loss didnt realy surprise me, as it is a skilled skaven team, with a one-turner GR (that end up scoring all the TD as far as I remeber). What realy surprised me was my inhability to do casualtys on the skaven team... oh well, we cant win them all. ;)

The tie game vs the Amazons was a realy close game, with a very intense first half with lots of players out of the pitch due to KO's, but without TD's.
In the second half it took me 5 turns to score, and then I was unable to hold the Amazons away from my half of the pitch, mainly because of a couple of Side Step Catchers and Blitzers, that simply wouldnt fall (blodge) and woudnt fail "dodge out's".
It was a close game except for the Casualtys that I ended up with half of my team in the KO and Injury box, with two dead mercenarys.
At least they were mercs...]

Now here's how the team goes:

Snow Troll- Loner, Claws, DP, Frenzy, WA, Mighty Blow
Thrower- Block, Pass, Sure Hands, _________?
6xLineman- Block
Runner #1- Block, Dauntless, Dodge
Runner #1- Block, Dauntless, Dodge, Side Step
Berserker- Block, Frnzy, Jump Up, Guard
Ulfwerener- Frenzy, Block

2 RRolls
6 FF
1 Apo

110K Treasury

Now I rolled a "6+4" for the thrower, so I can get either +MA, +AV or a new skill (perhaps Leader or Nerves of Steel).
I'll might go for the "Nerves of Steel" but I would like to know your oppinions on this.

About the money, I'm not sure if I should go into the second Berserker, or wait a bit for another Ulf.
Probably the Berserker as I'm in need of skilled players (to win me some games)...

Cheers
Axt

I would advise in favour of buying the Beserker and taking Leader on the Thrower, you will use the reroll, and you are not really a passing team.

a second Ulf will be good, but teh Beserker is a better buy first.

Leader is a must for Norse Throwers.

I'd go an Ulf if you have lot of games left (slower to develope but less vulnerable) but Beserker in a short league, instant impact.

They may play something like 10 games give or take, till the end of the season.
I suppose thats a short league right?

Thanks
Axt.

6+4 on a Thrower? MA. Run, don't walk. MA7 on a Thrower is awesome. MA7 on any player on a predominantly-MA6 team is awesome. MA7 on a Thrower on a predominantly MA6 team is awesomely awesome.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I've played Norse a lot since the 5.0 changes came out and have done pretty well with them. For developing Liners, for normal skills I start the first one with Kick, second one with Dirty Player, and after that I've come around to.... more Frenzy!

This team is a casualty causing machine because you get to throw way more block dice than your opponents. More Frenzy increases this advantage, play to your strength. Guard on the Blitzers let's them attack their way in to where they can assist more frenziers.

Stand Firm as a 2nd skill on the Blitzers gives you a good blitz to clear the sidelines into the crowd.
