Dwarf team for league

Post by fe2mike »

I've been debating this for quite some time and here is the roster I'm leaning to for our new league.
2 Runners, 2 Blitzers, 1 Slayer, 6 Longbeards, Apothecary, 1 RR 8FF.
The league is definitely power lopsided (2 Khemri, 2-3 Orc, 1-2 Lizardmen, 2 Chaos, 1 Norse, 1 Human, 1 Wood Elf, and maybe a 1 Dark Elf and 1 Skaven, and then my Dwarfs) and this will be my first time using them, I normally use Undead or Halflings.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My thoughts when making them were, Need the ball handlers, don't want to be stuck with just one, and would really like to start w/ the Apothecary because I don't want someone dying in the 1st game of the season (10-16 games +playoffs)against a Khemri team. I don't know my schedule, but just wanted to play it safe. Thanks, Mike

If it's a power heavy league, starting with more Troll Slayers might be a better choice. Dwarf guy in my league usually starts with only one Runner. I guess whatever suits your style.

You want more than 1 re-roll. Dwarves have very cheap re-rolls and your better off starting with as many as you can get (within reason). This is a good general guideline with any team of course.

I would drop the apothecary and buy him after the first match instead. I know it's a risk, but with AV9 on most of your guys, it's a risk worth taking.

How about:
2xBlitzers
2xRunners
7xLongbeards
3xRe-rolls
7xFF

Alternatively, you could drop a longbeard and 2FF for a troll slayer - though 5FF is rather low to start with.

Cheers,
Martyn

Maybe I'll go with
2 Runners
2 Blitzers
1 Slayer
6 longbeards
2 Rerolls
9 Fan Factor
The really high FF should alow me to get the Apoth really quick

I would go Chaos Dwarfs easier to use and strong and more faster as well.. They have same thing as Long Beards as well
