YBBL2 Cons (Cons)

Post by darren woodward »

I'm running Amazons in another league (Dwarfs in the other)

Usual 1M with free FF5. 10 - 12 games then Playoffs/Finals v the other YBBL qualifiers

I've gone
4 Blitzers (but of course)
2 Catchers
6 Line W
3 RR
Apoth

So far i've W1 D1 L0

One of the Catchers skilled up. I'm tempted with Sneaky Git although Block is the more obvious choice

I've also picked p the 13th LineW with winnings.

Thoughts gentlemen, thanks, d

Personally I never put Sneaky Git on a player who does not already have Dirty Player. I would also not put it on a valuable Catcher. You only have two Catchers so you do not want to waste them getting sent off they want skills for either getting or holding the ball.

Hey, i take the point but i usually have only the 1 Catcher whose job it is to foul. Only Catchers have normal access to Agility which is why i'm thinking SG.

2 Catchers may give me an actual receiver type and also a fouling machine (once she gets DP/maybe DP player first then?)

I tend to run the ball with a Catcher as a pass option only. Teams tend to double mark the Catcher which makes running rhe ball that bit easier

Thanks. d

Actually I'd think on GA access players Sneaky Git is better first skill for the fouling combo since you'll stay on the pitch longer to get more SPPs.

Regardless I'd still take block first. If you want a dedicated fouler then SG 2nd and DP 3rd. However that really seems a waste of a catcher.

Catchers have some good development options - sidestep & diving tackle for defence as well as offering a bit more speed (sure feet, sprint, jump up) or better receiving (diving catch).

Thanks Ian.

I'm convinced - i think i'll try Diving Catch & also get a Thrower with the winnings as i'm a bit tired of my run only policy.

EDIT: but Block first!!

I'm a big fan of having the option to pass on most AG3 teams. You don't want to use it all the time - but if you have it you have more options on offence that help divert defences and come in very useful if you only have 2~3 turns to score.

For me, Catchers get the agility skills every team wants but doesn't want to use doubles to have.

So Diving Tackle & Side Step.

Skills which synergy with this are Block & Tackle.

So one of those 4 would be my choice, tending towards Tackle last.
