If I wanted to buff Halflings, I'd give them global regenerate for free. Maybe that would be the effect of their Master Chef?
Regen isn't that great on many teams, as you get more mileage out of your Apoth. But you take so many darn injury rolls as a halfling coach, I think the boost would be nice.
Sorry, that idea is pretty out of the box, and not very well "fluffed."

Just wanted to point out that your buff actually has an effect in the case of the flings being underdogs (Which is a good thing.)mattgslater wrote:Then double the price.Jural wrote:They could also induce one, much like the rostered and induced apothecary.mattgslater wrote: Alternately, you could let them roster a MC for its inducement value. That would only matter if they were somehow the overdog or equal.

Hi Darkson and all
Basically, I wanty to do suggested buffs for the 5 bottom teams, and suggested nerfs for the 5 top teams. Something like that.
Generate a list of ideas.
Have a poll (or 2) to see, what the collective mind of the TBB prefers as a good nerf/buff.
Then linterested eagues could consult the list, and pick 1, 2 or 3 depending on how much of a tweak they were looking for.
Makes sense?
Cheers
Martin
I've got a nagging sensation that you won't like the answer - cause it involves polls - but....Martin, it would help if you said exactly how much of a "buff" you're looking for. Are you trying to make them a solid teir 1 team (in which case you're looking at probably 3+ ideas from this thread), or a tier 2 team (in which case probably just 1 or 2), or equal to the other tier 3 teams (in which case I'd argue they don't need a buff)?

We've done exactly this once, and it was really fun. Suddenly, that little 'fling with dauntless and wrestle running into your cage was something to fear. Gen-access (with 'block' still needing a dbl) is all it needs.SillySod wrote:Give all halflings special general access - basicly access to all the general skills except block.

You could also have double-category skills. Put Frenzy in G and S, and SH in A and S....

What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Bring back chef's ingredients @ 0-2, 50k each (100k for other teams) , adds +1 to the Master Chef roll.
Maybe a 0-2 halfling with stab for 50k.
I also like the Master Chef having a +1 to KO rolls.
Not a lot, would still be tier 3 imo, but they wouldn't be quite so awful.
And/or increase their AV to 7 (or even 8 at +10k). Compared to gobbos, they lose MA and AV for only 10k in difference.

Wow, lots of ideas. I'll try to group them a bit:
Extra Positionals
0-2 "Treeling" blockers
0-2 halfling blitzers (with access to G skills)
0-2 hafling sous-chef "blitzers" (with stab)
0-2 halfling catchers
0-2 halfling throwers
0-2 dryad throwers (ca. 6338 stats)
Durability
Master Chef adds +1 to KO recovery
Thick Skull on halflings (for free?)
AV8 halflings
Regenerate on all halflings
20K halflings (makes a full bench very affordable)
Buffing TTM
Sure Feet = +1 to landing
An accurate TTM gives +1 to landing.
Not carrying the ball gives +1 to landing.
Master Chef
Wins the coin toss
0-2 50K permanent/inducement = +1 to chef roll
Master Chef only 2d6, but works on each 2+
Master Chef permanent buy. May also induce one at full cost.
Rules Tweaking
Halflings give +1 to treeman stand-up rolls
Discount to wandering apoths
More stars
Halflings get special non-block G-access
I consider the rules tweaking ones, to be a bit too much. I'd want a tweak that could buff the roster, without messing with some of the basics of the game.
Cheers

I know you said tweaking the rules to be a bit much, Martin, but could you not just bring back the idea of an accurate throw on TTM? Otherwise, I think the +1 for sure feet is a good idea.

How about making halflings 20k? That leaves you with more halflings and more inducements.... you can also afford to be more reckless with your flings

Hi Leipziger,
yeah - that is a possible solution.
Problem is that it would also buff ogres, gobbos.. and orcs.
I'd prefer a more halfling specific solution.
Also, weak is they are, I don't think that making TTM scores even more Ch-easy makes for a particularly fun solution.
How about this one:
A player not holding the ball gets +1 to landing rolls.
Doesn't work for OTS, but works for all the other cool TTM plays.
Cheers

Hi Sillysod,
I'll add it to the list.
But as the max is still 16 players, what we're really doing is gicing the team another 100K of inducements. Not really fattening their bench.
Cheers
