Moving 0 squares

Post by barrskog »

Can you declare a move action and then chose not to move the model? For example activating a previously gazed model with a move action and have him stand still, just to remove the gaze.

Yes you can.

It is also useful to try to get your stupid Troll or boneheaded Ogre to regain its tackle zone.

There's one of the inducement cards which forces your opponent to move a miniature first or not at all during any turn. My opponent argued the same thing, that touching the mini and declaring a move but not actually moving said mini was sufficient.

I felt that this was outside of the spirit of the card, but let it go without too much arguing as it wasn't a tourney game.

Mod ruling?

Mod ruling? Why?!

Had the same card played on me... (damn! that was awesomely annoying!).... What's the deal, though? Whether you don't activate the mini at all... or "activate" and just turn the mini around....

It's all the same....

Ego trip right?

Code: Select all

For the remainder of this game, that player must be activated first every turn or not be activated at all.
So the only difference would be the ability to recover from a gaze or failed Stupid/Bonehead roll. IMO that's a pretty marginal upside.

Activate means take his action for the turn, which can mean a move action where the coach choses to move 0 squares. Perfectly fine. To state the obvious, the player now has moved, so he cannot do anything else for the rest of the turn.

I could see doing it every turn, move 0 that is. In order to remind himself that he needs to activate that guy first.

errr am I missing something with that card

if he doesn't activate him first he can't do anything with that mini in that turn?

its fine to do a move action to activate him and move him no where

though if he is in the square you want him in anyway, why bother to do that? surely its a moot point to be arguing if its ok to do a move 0 action with him regardless?

Because of things like Hypnotic Gaze, Really Stupid or Bonehead.
