Hi guys,
I think the problem with doom divers is that we have to invent a new skill to make them work. And, personally, whenever I see a new skill, I stop reading.
Kind of the same problem with netters. Hypnogaze could be a solution, but IMO it would just make people look at the profile and go "What?". Kind of when I experimented with Bretonnians, and suggested horns for the knights, to show that they are great blitzers. Most people just thought "horns? - but knights don't have horns!".
I prefer something clean and simple.
My favourites are the squig(s) and a free dirty trick card. So simple, and so like goblins.
SillySod - a bloodlust squig might almost work. But the skill description states thralls. If only it had just stated "linemen" or "non-vampire" for the victims...
Cheers
Martin
PS - keep posting which ideas you support, so we can trim the list.

I don't think any good buffs will help the gobbos that much!
I have a goblin team at 153 TV and most of the time I can give the opponent a good match, in the begining then the players left the pitch and it's hard to give a match.
I have 16 players (2 troll, 1 chainsaw lonney, 1 pogoboy and 12 goblins)
Even with a bribe I still will get problems.
And to change the team to much takes away the "gobbo feeling" and the team can be totaly wrong.
If you wanna play goblins, don't expect anything!!!

[Edit] Clearer.
If you don't agree with the thread's idea, why bother posting?plasmoid wrote:This is not a thread for discussing whether a buff is appropriate - this a thread to come up with ideas for buffs that a league could use, if said league had already decided that they wanted to do a buff.

All I can say is that with Doom Divers, Fanatics, Netters, and Squigs, along with Chainsaws. it's beginning to not really sound like a Blood Bowl team out there. It does sound like goblins however...

Maybe this demands two separate Goblin teams. One as-is with either the Doom Diver, or the Orcs, or something else that isn't Night-Goblin-y, and then a Night Goblin roster, which trades the Bomber and Pogoer* for a Squig or Squig Hopper (or a 2nd Fanatic), as well as a Netter with Wrestle and a Clubber with DP, each for 50k.
*Pogo sticks and stalactites are a bad fit. Or leave the Pogoer in and drop the Clubber, but usually they're bought as a package deal. My Orc team has a Night Goblin Shaman as an Apoth, and a Clubber as his anesthesiologist....

Re: Ideas for buffing gobbos
If it's directed to me, I have given my share, but it seem difficult to give buffs that don't tweak the game to much.Darkson wrote:If you don't agree with the thread's idea, why bother posting?plasmoid wrote:This is not a thread for discussing whether a buff is appropriate - this a thread to come up with ideas for buffs that a league could use, if said league had already decided that they wanted to do a buff.
And plasmoid another buffthing from me.
"Freepooled" secret weapons! You can use any weapon any time on any player!!! It's still secret though.
Exampel. My goblin with AG4 and Passing will be getting Bombs this drive!
So every goblin can use it! But only once.
The Fanatic guy is still to crazy to be a normal gobbo.

Hi Jural,
But one of those as an option is still plenty BB for me
If we added all of that it certainly wouldn't look much like a team. All I can say is that with Doom Divers, Fanatics, Netters, and Squigs, along with Chainsaws. it's beginning to not really sound like a Blood Bowl team out there. It does sound like goblins however...

Then perhaps a good buff would have been something that adds just a little bit of staying power. Orc linemen fits the bill. But so could a permanent fungus brew, adding +1 to KO recovery (?)I have a goblin team at 153 TV and most of the time I can give the opponent a good match, in the begining then the players left the pitch and it's hard to give a match.

Hi all,
here is my likes and dislikes
1 Free Dirty Trick card: Simple. Works. And so like goblins.
0-2 orc linemen
0-2 squigs (wild animal?) - perhaps as a star?
0-3 trolls
TTM: +1 to landing when not holding the ball.
Loner off the trolls
I think gobbos already have lots of decent inducement choices. I don't think another one will swing anything. I also think they have enough secret weapons - getting more people sent off won't help them either. Finally, some of the options are just a bit bland for me, while others require new skills or rules-tweaking, which doesn't work for me personally.
Cheers
