My vote would be for removing loner on the trolls.
Its simple, requires no new rules, new models or new interpretations of existing rules.
In addition I think it would be only a slight increase in the effectiveness of goblins.

For me Orc linemen, Loner off trolls or more trolls is just a bit dull.
That looks like a great addition.

I'd give them Agility access, personally. Having access to S means only one thing: more Guard. And I don't think that suits the Squig imagery.

Agility, however, gives them access to Dodge and Jump Up, which suits their bouncy image more.

That is an incredible player. 60K for a ST4 + frenzy player who can leap into the cage on a 3+ with a re-roll? I'd just take the leaping element out.

Experience says that frenzy doesnt combo terribly well with leaping into cages :D Besides, this is meant to be a buff.... although perhaps 80k, general skill access, or bloodlust might be more appropriate (I think this really depends on personal preference).

Almost sold... Would you agree to:

0-2 Squigs 5438 Loner, No Hands, Wild Animal, Frenzy, Very Long Legs, Leap A-GSP 60k

(Swapped Claw for Loner)- IMHO, the piece is too reliable without loner, I think. I'd love to have the Fanatic Movement on the piece as well... That would be awesome... But the leap mechanic is more fun.

(Changed to AG Access)- I agree 100% with Andro. above.

I like A access rather than S access too.

Also, while I get that the leap bonus is cute, squigs simply don't have very long legs, so it looks like crap on the profile.
Cut the VVL, and you'll have much less of a balance problem with the leaping cage-breaking.
In the same vein, I'm not too crazy about the claws. I mean, yeah, they have big pointy teeth. But they sure as heck don't have claws.

Doh - I forgot loner. So my 60k price was with Loner. I just plucked that out of thin air though so 70k or 80k probably work too.

AS-GMP as a skill selection would be interesting. I don't think G access would be reasonable though. Easy access to block & tackle would make them a bit too good IMO.

@Plasmoid - Squigs are meant to bounce... they need to bounce. Bouncing is what squigs are about. Squigs are space hoppers gone bad. So they need leap. Giving them AG4 and Leap isn't a good option since that makes them too good at dodging. So VLL & Leap gives the same effect.

TBH S4 Leap into cage with Frenzy doesn't both me much. On a player without G access most of the time its going to be 1 or 2 dice against. Also they aren't that fast (MA5) so its difficult to get everywhere. Goblins can reliably get 1/2 dice blitzes on ball carriers in cages. This might let them get the odd better blitz.

On a gobbo team though a 3+ leap & 2 dice block is probably your best odds :)

For cage breaking... sure. I dont see it being your best use of a blitz very frequently though.

I know they're meant to bounce. And I'm all for it.
I just don't see any particular reason why it has to be a 3+ leap.

4+ will be somewhat less powerful, and I'm fine with that on a reasonably cheap piece, that already adds something to the team. (toughness and ST).
And - as I said - squigs don't have very long legs. In fact they have very very short legs.

Cheers

Hmm... I can see the need for Loner if he leaps. No other way around it really. But it kind of ruins the piece for me. A loner with ST4 and frenzy is just a recipe for early turnovers, and that isn't helping the Goblin coach. Having four (at least) Loners on the team also causes problems. I played the Journal Squigs a lot and ST4/frenzy even with a re-roll was a turnover machine.

But maybe he doesn't have to leap. In WFB only unattended and ridden Squigs bounce. I'd say a BB pitch allows for close enough attention from the Goblins that the Squigs wouldn't go mental. You could have a Squig Hopper (star player?) to show the bouncing bit.

I would echo the need for loner, but for 60k I would say AV7 would be better.
