LRB 5.0 Java Client
Anyone seen this? Site is in French, but the software runs in English.
http://botocs.free.fr/
Requires Java 1.6, and oddly, due to an interesting "security" quirk, you need to change your timezone to GMT +1 for it to run (you can change it back once the .jar executes).
The 0.4.3b Patch file on the main page is just a patch, you need to click the Téléchargement link to find the full 0.4.3 program. Just copy the .jar from the patch over the original version.

LOL, so THAT was the solution to the security problem? I guess I will have another go at it once I go back to Sweden then (which is in GMT+1).
How does the .jar cope with daylight saving? That will be interesting to see.

If you have the appropriate permissions just change your PC time to +1 GMTOdium Khan wrote:LOL, so THAT was the solution to the security problem? I guess I will have another go at it once I go back to Sweden then (which is in GMT+1).

There's a new release now which apparently fixes this issue.ianwilliams wrote:If you have the appropriate permissions just change your PC time to +1 GMTOdium Khan wrote:LOL, so THAT was the solution to the security problem? I downloaded the 4.4 version and so far it works great, it is missing a few icons and pictures and does not have any of the new teams but i like it so far. The only problem is trying to find a roster creator that exports xml instead of html to be able to add new teams.

Do you know where your brain is?
Or did the Game Goblin steal it while you were gaming?

Here you go.
This is a website from a french guy to create your roster.
http://elyoukey2.phpnet.org/botocsXMLge ... csgen.html#
The only problem at the moment, as the new teams are not yet included you have to "cheat" if you want to play them... For the slann team for example, you need to use one of the teams already in use in Botocs, change the caracs, skills and prices when you create the roster (not the names "saurus" or "skink" though) and here you go ! You can swap some icons after if you have them and it's ready to play.
I think you can still modify everything after with Word as well; just open the html file.

Very awesome client
I have to say, this client really rocks. I've been testing out all the types of actions that I'd want to do, and it's all in there.
We may start using this for games that we can't quite get people to the same location for.

I've had no trouble running the client on linux. I've run different versions of the client, and now 0.6.Melipone wrote:Tried on linux, but had no luck so maybe they aren't too concerned about cross OS compatability. Intend to give Wine a go, will feedback later if that works.
Although I advise you to set the sounds off from the client, as there seems to be some sort of memory leak or something with them. The client crashes if left on for a long time (hours) with the sound on.
